Sheesh...61 pages of posts was too much to read through. I stopped at page 20 and skipped the the end. Still, I wanted to add my 2 cents to the thread.
Just so you know where my perspective is coming from: I'm a single mom, nearing the 40-year mark
My dream man would be one who shared my interests in reading (not just manga, but sci-fi and fantasy also), watching anime, wearing costumes to conventions, going to flea markets, eating Thai food....you get the idea.
At the very least, I would like to find someone who is willing to let me be who I am, 1000+ books and all, and wouldn't constantly harass me about my "stupid" or "childish" hobbies, and pressure me to get rid of some of my books (or any of the other stuff I have). Case in point: my brother is a big Nascar fan. Before he got married, he had amassed quite a collection of Nascar collectibles, some of which were quite nice and increased in value after Dale Earnhardt's death. Then he got married, and over the next four years, his wife has needled him to get rid of - not just part - but ALL of his Nascar stuff. She can't stand his hobbies, which includes hunting and fishing, and always gives him a difficult time whenever he spends any time involved in those things.
I'd rather stay single than have to live with someone like that, thank you very much.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it or not, but there is an online dating community just for geeks - it's called Soul Geek.
