The male lead acts like a child and the female lead IS a child. That does not make it appropriate in any way.

Just read a few chapters in between and got annoyed by the love rivals.

Only one flaw

Funny manga with a great protagonist in Hana. The only thing that lessened my enjoyment was the fact that it was an adult dating a teenager, and it actually felt that way a lot of the time (unlike typical shoujos with this type of age gap). Hana is portrayed as being very mature, and Takane as very immature, so most of the time it feels like they’re the same mental age, but the age difference is consistently shoved at the reader via the narrative, and the instances of physical intimacy felt awkward.

One of the romance series that is actually funny unlike the many other series that wave the romcom tag.

A story about a Teenage girl who replaces her sister (Flaked due to having a boyfriend) with an arranged meeting with a high profile CEO of the largest corporation in Japan. You've read shoujo manga you know the type. However immediately he's rude to her so she also is rude to him and leaves in a huff. However with his pride being hurt and horrified how a women hasn't fallen for him cuz of his existence being existing, he will now try to woo her constantly through the weirdest way possible. She annoyed with him though finding him funny due to extravagance she intends to make him fall in love with her instead. Hence the Push and pull relationship starts and However falls in love first LOSES.

If you couldn't tell this is some Kaguya shit going on. The MMC is full of himself but it works because the FMC pushes back hard. They both want the other one to fall in love first whilst both of them due to there constant teasing, affection and various situations mostly romantic than sexual they slowly start gaining feelings for each other. This results in the push and pull dynamic as I mentioned earlier. This isn't the first series to do that. But it works because of the equal mental pairing of the characters. Despite being 26 the Male lead is more immature, despite being 16 the female lead is the more mature one. The money difference also allows for some actual funny gags. Rare for a romcom unlike the many garbage ones that get praised.

The manga is 18 volumes yet it works because the core of the series. The romantic Comedy aspect of the series is actually very good. The jokes aren't all amazing but most of them do land unlike other romcom like Nisekoi or Love Hina or Maison Ikkoku. The manga also isn't excessive in comedy. Its not using comedy to hide its bottom tier writing and characters Like Jitsu wa watashi wa often did. It has the right balance. Though I still wish It gave the more emotional moments the right amount of breathing room. It felt a little short and undercut with comedy at times.

The characters are great. They have great chemistry both the male lead and female lead have various stages of character development whilst not alienating from there original personality. The age gap is surprisingly not really a thing. Its just there as like a passing mention thing. It doesn't have an arc, It feels more like something that exists because the author is into older guys. Hana the FMC does mention how different there world is because of there age gap but its not an obstacle. Even when it seems like its an obstacle its not. They mention it more times than it being an actual problem.

The family drama as it does appear. This IS a shoujo manga after all. Is also kinda well done. Mostly because it retains the humor while not making the situations too dark. There is 1 scene that definitely crosses the line. But you know its just one scene. If you've read Shoujo manga you know what I'm talking about.

The characters romantic development is sweet and engaging. I did think that these couples are meant to be together. There isn't a love triangle due to how short lived it is. This is seems to be recurring theme as something dramatic isn't as long as it should be. But this isn't really a bad thing.

In the end its the ending that kinda bothered. The whole sweep all the garbage under the rug. Bad guy does good stuff now. No one is at fault really. Its my parents and then the parents get the back story that their parents were assholes and so on and so on.

The jokes don't always land, the family drama could've been better, shouldn't undercut some serious scenes with jokes but honestly there isn't a lot to complain here. The comedy is funny when it matters, the romance is tight and to the point, the development is nice and not overtly done. And you have a naked tap dancing scene so why haven't you read this manga already.

One of the romance series that is actually funny unlike the many other series that wave the romcom tag

Best Shoujo Comedy - WHY DOESN'T IT HAVE AN ANIME YET??

As many have said, the characters here are refreshingly entertaining. The rich guy and poor girl trope are used and used extremely well. What makes this so enjoyable is, of course, the banter between Hana and Takane. Hana is definitely not your average meek shoujo girl, whatever you throw at her she will hit back at you tenfold. Takane's extravagance is hilarious, especially paired with Hana's nonchalant reaction. This quirky relationship does their you vs me for quite a while, but there is development.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
In volume 6, Takane's grandfather decides to give his grandson a serious dose of reality; all of Takane's bank accounts are frozen, his car, his apartment, all the luxuries he prides himself on. Here onwards, Takane sees a new value in his relationship with Hana as he understands that there is value in himself beyond his material possessions. Meanwhile, Hana also reluctantly admits to herself that she also values her relationship with Takane as more than just a fun pastime - but ofc Hana hates admitting this 'loss' so she hides it.
These budding feelings are given a bigger kick by the chairman, who decides to move the Nonomura family and Takane into one big house (volume 9). More hilarity ensues and Hana is consistent to her character - not shying away when she accidentally walked into the hallway with only a towel to be seen by none other than Takane (he became the blushing maiden instead haha).
Volume 10 sees more pressure on their feelings for each other, as a misunderstanding with Okamon leads to Takane temporarily calling off their arrangement, seriously upsetting Hana and leading to Takane reuniting and apologising to her in the middle of the rain - the most typical shoujo we got so far, but still quite in character.

Volume 11 was a truckload of drama, and FINALLY led to one confession of feelings. After a kidnapping incident, and a near societal humiliation situation, Takane too, admits his feelings. I really liked this volume in particular because we saw so much of Takane's serious side.

Of course, this is Takane and Hana, so just admitting feelings for each other won't end the story. The banter continues, and so does the manga.

This story really gets better further it goes so I'm looking forward to supporting it till the end.

Update: read the ending and oh my it is such a perfectly in-character ending for both of them. Those who worry about the age gap can be assured that this issue has not been brushed away, Takane is always aware of the sensitivity, and the most serious they get in-story is a kiss (which they already did in chapter 1 anyway)

Subversive, witty, refreshing, cute

It's been a while I liked a shoujo this much. The tropes are completely subverted, the manga has genuine witty conversations, the characters are refreshing, and I was cheering for the male lead and female lead already in the first chapter. Because the tropes are subverted, the female lead is actually the one in control in this story, and the male lead is just wonderful, really one in a kind character. Their interactions were a joy to read.

There is an age gap, and it's not small. I usually don't like stories like this because they make me feel so uncomfortable, but Takane to Hana is just different. The age gap is not hidden, but it starts because of the female lead and her family, not him. The male lead doesn't try to molest her, it's actually her who kisses him (and it's really funny). Also, it's actually discussed in an interesting way. After reading chapter 70 (in Spanish translations) I want them to be together but at the same time, I wonder how this is going to work out because he needs a wife but she needs a boyfriend.

The otp here has amazing chemistry. I love them to death. I wanted to see them married with 5 babies within the very first chapter. That's how cute they were with one another. They troll each other all the time, but their compatibility is off the charts. I love how they bicker over trivial things like petty little children, but have each other's backs when facing various obstacles. Hana has got to be the best shoujo lead I've encountered in a looooong time. She is refreshingly witty, snarky, honest, and down-to-earth. She makes you want to root for her. Takane is also quite likable as well. He acts like a domineering villain around Hana, but she has no problem taking him down a peg or five. And he adores her for it. I truly love their relationship. This manga is a definite recommendation from me. Read it. You won't regret it.

Did I mention that this manga is also funny as hell. Like, genuinely funny. I'm having a blast reading it. 😁

Can't get enough of this manga!

I have been followed this manga since begining. I thought this was the manga I searched and still is. Funny, interesting, romantic, light reading, and makes me hooked up.
It seems like a typical shoujo, but what makes it refreshing is the characters. They are so alive, refreshing and interesting. They give another breath to the plot, and they're unforgetable as they are different to each other and has their own development.
The main characters are another story. It's like the roles are switched between male and female main character (hana and takane). If, in usual shoujo, female always get flustered, in this manga it was main male character. The funny thing is, it's older male character which we always depict them as mature and 'wise' who will guide the younger one.
Hana, the main female, has her own will and quite strong with her opinion. She's straighforward with her opinion but not straightforward enough with her feeling. Stubborn and not willingly to lose first.
And then, Takane, he's an adult but he showed his childish side only to Hana. I think it's sweet of him to show his trueself only to Hana. Even though I always wonder, if in the real life, can an adult male lose himself to the younger, much younger than him?
Nevertheless, like I have wrote before, it's light reading so I don't think that much. I enjoy it, and that's enough for me to follow this manga.

This caught my attention 3 pages in haha, the moment she threw that wig, I was hooked. It's also rare to find a manga with such a lovable tsundere male lead. The hilarious comebacks are great and the art is enjoyable. Although it's not bad, if it continues like this, I may drop it. As mentioned in some of the reviews here, if she continues to treat him crappy...it's just not realistic.

Not bad so far (14 chapters in). I have high hopes! I hope it ends with them in the future smile I would love to see how she matures.

I'm a huge shoujo manga reader and whenever I come across a long series I usually just read the first-third chapters or at least when I get the situation then I skip over chapters and read the last chapter (since I basically get what's going to happen (shoujo thingy) haha) but this one is an absolute masterpiece the art is gorgeous the characters are lovable especially the girl MC she's totally my favorite she's not like those typical shoujo girls where they just cry and ya know shoujo girls--_-- ..
Well anyways you should totally read it
P.S I rated it 9 because it still ongoing and updates are really slow.
