A good read

This novel is pretty good. It's simple, writing is good and translation is also good. It gives the usual OP MC, but considering when it came out, i'd say it was one of the first that did that. I also think it would be a very good piece to animate.

@eugene2k - Compared to some novels out there, this one is pretty good (the setting is). You say that it's unlikely (impossible) that that could've happened, but i disagree. Let's say that Kousuke has ~70Kg and is falling from height of 5000 metres. That gives him A LOT of impact energy. And as soon as he broke the dragon's horn, he started getting his power, which is what kept him alive, and if it weren't for Horun, he woul have probably died. But, it's still true that it's higly unlikely, but with author's explanation, still possible.

The protagonist falls onto the big bad dragon, who eats people and who couldn't be killed by numerous heroes and knights, and kills it. Himself suffering injuries as well. He kills it because he was falling from a pretty big height. He doesn't kill himself in the process because, apparently, the author decided the story would be too short otherwise. Well, there don't seem to be any other explanations. I originally thought this would be a comedy/fantasy, but it looks like your average fantasy. TBH, I don't understand how the Japanese authors can both display an amazing creative talent when drawing manga and an amazing dullness when writing novels.
