My favorite story ever

I first found it’s anime, then read the entirety of the manga, then read the officially translated light novels, then the unofficially translated ones, then the machine translations, then the web comic.

I can’t express with words how much I like the characters and setting, how the intricacies of magic play a role in its society, and how previous events in the story of the world have repercussions on today’s story.

I can’t recommend it enough

10/10 - Very well done. The world-building, characters, and storyline are really well thought out and fun to read. Of the different adaptations this has the most detailed portrayal of the storyline when you are comparing them. The light novel also include some bonus stuff at the end of each novel so it is worth it to purchase the light novel and not just read the translation of the light novel.

The most amazing part of fantasy kind of stories is when the author is able to catch you with of a somehow touchy-realistic environments even while describing nonsensical phenomena like magic or stuff...
That's exactly what this kind of novel is like. It's realistic enough for you to easily sympathize with almost every character in it.
Although it is not a perfect work, it is one of the best fantasy novel I have ever read.
Materpiece level: 10/10

Definitely interesting, with a slowish pace

Note: I've read up to chapter 35

This is a bit of an odd one. I really enjoy it, but I don't mind the slowish pace and the "action" being either someone trying to make books or social interactions between characters, so maybe it isn't for everyone. I do think that it's well written though, and blastron01's doing a good job with the translation, at least in terms of how easily it reads in english.

If I had to compare the feel of this to something, it'd probably be somewhat similar to Koshaku Reijo no Tashinami (Novel) but with book-making instead of financial stuff.

I like the pace of this a lot though, it's kinda slow with some small things happening, and then it swells into a climax, and then goes back down. I realize that describes most stories, but I think this one does a particularly good job with it.

I'd say that if you're looking for something entertaining and a little intellectual, this is a pretty solid choice.
