Description
From Easy Going Scans:

Fate brings two people who live in the same condo together on a typical afternoon. Ozawa (26) has just broken up with her boyfriend of five years and was in the process of trying to rebuild her life when she meets Oyamada who lives a couple floors below her. He is somewhat of a loner although he does have a few friends and his room is cluttered with all the random stuff that his impulse shopper brother sends him. Ozawa takes an interest with all the things in his room and the two start a friendship that slowly turns into something more.

Vanilla romance? You f*****g got it

Hey those of you who seek romance but right now are turned off by the cover of a man who looks like a homeless nerd. Don't be fooled by it. You get used to his appearance in 2 chapters. The story is absolutely awesome, no drama, comedy here or there, ordinary life, no 2000000 pointless chapters on thinking about confessing and stuff. Really guys try this. You won't be disappointed.

Like a real romance

This is so freaking adorable! I read up to the current chapter (21) in one go. I really like all the characters, it's funny, and just such a cute romance. There's none of the annoying plot devices you see in romance. No one is jumping to wild conclusions/misunderstandings, too stupid to see the obvious, really dramatic, or anything else totally unrealistic. All the characters feel real and it's like you're seeing the progress of a real relationship. As others said, it's really refreshing! Not to mention I'd love hanging out in an awesome room like that. You never know what they'll pull out.

I just wish I knew how old the male lead was! I'm assuming he's younger, but the curiosity is kind of killing me. I hope we find out at some point!

An Interesting Read

This will definitely be a breath of fresh air for anyone who enjoys romance manga. It doesn't have the typical idealistic romance setting, nor does it contain ridiculous amounts of ecchi from a high school setting manga.

What it does contain is a plain romance, in an interesting and unique setting, between two characters you can relate to. Anyone even remotely interested should read it, as it's fairly early in it's serialization and quick to catch up to. The only downside it the slow release speed.

Very good one

I won't say it's amazing. It is really basic, just shows a plain relationship.

And you have no idea how good it feels. This is an atypic romance manga in nearly every sense of the word (basically the only un-original thing is that there's a man and a woman...)
Too often romance mangas focus on various and totally stupid and irrealistic difficulties that the couple encounters. Here there's nothing of the sort, and you feel refreshed after each and every chapter.

A 10 for me

Just great! Give it a try if you haven't already. It's about a baka couple without any stupid drama.
I laughed so much, they are lovely.
A perfect example of a couple of best friends who want to share their lives because they love being with each other, they love and respect each other and they have fun when they are together, even when they are just lazing around.

Adorable

Bonnouji is a great little romantic manga. It has a small cast of warm characters, actual progression with the relationship between our two main leads and a satisfying ending. Really, there's hardly anything that I would say is outright bad here. So why isn't it getting a 10/10? Well, while the story is adorable sometimes I found that there wasn't much keeping me invested. The two main leads get together fairly quickly, which I like, but then there's basically no drama for the rest of the story other than one or two minor points. I don't NEED drama to make a story work but there was times where I just got tired of these two just sorta living their daily lives.

This is still a great manga that falls into my personal preferred length of less than 50 chapters. I certainly recommend a read, there are times when the romance is just too precious.

Nice change of pace

It's only the beginning, but the story as a whole has a nice feel to it, and i am really digging this story, from what I've read so far. Nobody is over-dramatic(as of yet), nor is anyone (yet) excessively stupid or prone to over the top misunderstandings that are impossible for anyone with even moderate intelligence to make in the real world (as happens way too much in manga already).

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The girl is heartbroken over her long time boyfriend breaking up with her, and the male counterpart is simply a lonely guy who seems to rarely leave home, but definitely not a loser, more like an eccentric than anything else, and a cool one at that. Both of them are surprisingly down to earth, and the romance potential, while pretty obvious, is still rather charming (call me a sappy romantic in a 29 year old man's body i guess) And the special twist of the story, his apartment being a wonderland of mysterious boxes that can hold anything from high grade porn to to toys, or cookware, gives the apartment a kind of wonderland feel.

And finally. the distinct lack of over the top awkward situations (at least so far) makes the manga a refreshing change from your average story. Anyway, for what it's worth that's what I think so far.

Reading this manga feels like reading a fantasy it have slice of life element but seeing Oyamada and Ozawa interacting is really fantasy like. I also really like all those small talk, this is rare manga that didn't adopt overblown drama just simple daily chit chat manga but yet really interesting to read.

I was looking for a romance story with age difference set in a complex when I luckily discovered this one. I was initially weirded out by the random and whimsical stuff that are stored in Bonnouji (the name given to the male lead's unit) but those things aside I think the bond that the leads share is very refreshing. What I liked best about this series is how it didn't drag on with the awkward stage of a getting-to-know relationship. When the relationship came in full circle, there were even more interactions to look forward to than to get tired of. This is a great romance manga for an easy sit-down read.

... is what you will think. Definetely.
The plot doesn't rush, it's more episodic, but you get to know each character, slowly but steadily.
No dramatic events, just a man and a woman who get to know each other, spend time together every once in a while, no annoying rivals, or things along the line, just a bunch of pages of sweetness and fun each chapter.

sweet and funny: truly a gem 10/10
