Description
From Midnight Scans:

Kureha Mimachi, a 15-year-old girl, has just transferred into Shiritsu Kenhono High School. However, there is something weird about this school, it is actually a school where the Princes and Princesses of the beast-kind go to!

Even though Kureha is human, she is there as a way to help the students lead their lives peacefully with humans and has the role as the "rabbit". Will she be able survive without being eaten by the students? Only time and her hidden bodyguards will be able to answer that...

Along for the ride

I remember reading this years ago but the translations eventually stopped and it fell off my radar. Started to reread the series from the beginning seeing as how translations have picked up again. This series is full of cliche shoujo storylines but there are some aspects that are pretty interesting (such as Ukyou's backstory with his brother, the previous rabbit, etc). Sad thing is that all those interesting storylines are rushed through and not many questions are answered. So, I'm basically reading this with an open mind and not taking the storylines too seriously. It's really cute and it makes me laugh smile

Lots of Cliches. A good shoujo starter, or for those developing taste for shoujo

This is the first time I've felt the distinct effect of not being part of a manga's target demographic (shoujo, shounen, etc.).

For a long time now, I haven't really cared about the demographic, and, until recently, enjoy a wide variety of manga. From violently bloody seinen to shoujo one-shots.

Fact is, I've read a lot of The Good, and had my share of The Face-palming Bad.

This one, though. I think I might've enjoyed it more if I'd encountered it earlier, maybe 10 years ago when I was obsessed with Gakuen Alice.

It's not exactly bad, it's just not what I expected considering the rating. Despite the many similarities in plot and characterisation with other similar manga with the same tropes, the one thing that made me roll my eyes and think of Gakuen Alice, was the obvious obvious male lead.

The male lead is basically: A popular ass (with, of course, the necessary reasons for his d*ckish-ness) with some serious attitude problems, who has (of course) a heart of gold. He's hard on the outside, and such a marshmallow on the inside, of course. Like. Deep deep inside. *rolls eyes*

Also, 20+ pages in to the first chapter, he lands on top of her half naked (for humour reasons) and fondles her breasts with his oh, so, stoic expression.

Almost strained my eyes from all the eye-rolling I was doing, pushing myself to read the rest of the first volume, because, surely it deserved its popularity. And then it hit me. Maybe this type of thing isn't for me anymore. I'm not immune to the Bad Boy trope, but this one just seriously hit me over the head with all the damn cliches.

I couldn't stand it. Sorry.

The female lead is pretty much the target of abuse from all sides, disguised as plot, humour, and when needed, bullying to force her into the arms of her "love interest/abuser". Sure, it's all good and "heartwarming", and she brings 'humanity' to all 'em beasts, or something like that.

Gratuitous shots of her teary-eyed face softens Male Lead towards her. Of course, he won't show it because of his "rough exterior" (in other words, emotional constipation).

Her hidden strength, apparently, is putting up with everyone's BS, from the students to the incompetent faculty.

It's good in some parts. The humour is pretty hit and miss, and the way they all four fell into friendship was pretty fast, but understandable in some strange way.

I've read all the translated chapters and saw all the Chinese raws. I really love this manga and I'm sad that this manga has ended...it is actually my favorite manga from this mangaka. One thing I'm disappointed about is that the ending was so..unsatisfying..
I would have wanted more chapters, but there's nothing more to be done to a finished manga.

I loved Ryoko Fukuyama's other series Nosatsu Junkie so naturally I'd love this one. Her art style is unique. I'm a fan of superatural romance genres so I immediately would read and even look at the raws of this series. Now the ONLY reason that I give it an 8/10 is mainly because the ending just feels totally rushed. I can't read the raws unfortunately but I have a clue as to what is going on each chapter due to the pretty pictures (and I have a friend that can translate it for me). I didn't even realize chapter 71 was the last chapter until the last page! When I saw FIN I was saying to myself "Wait! Woah, you've got to be kidding! This can't be the last chapter can it?" Yes the last chapter certainly looks like the last chapter of any shoujo manga but the chapters leading up to it just doesn't really fit for me...

I couldn't finish what little is scanlated. The translations are so bad, it's jarring and completely throws you out of the story. It seems like it could be okay, but for now it's just pretty art with terrible translations.

i love it, another great work but i just hope there'll be releases soon sad i like the actual manga series rather than the oneshot but that's only because the characters' ears are on their heads instead of having them as their actual ears. it looked kinda weird in the one shot x)

Nousatsu Junkie was one of my favorite series and I'm happy to know that Fukuyama sensei has another series. I really want to read more. Also, I wonder, is ch 1 and the oneshot the same thing?

The art is awesome and I think the story's really cute, even though it doesn't really touch on romance. I know it's not listed under romance, but if it was then... YAY smile
