Description
Since long ago, a bitter rivalry and feud has long existed between two clans, the Toujo and Toyoda families. Because of this feud, it has long been Kanade's job as a shinobi to ensure the safety of Keigo, a member of the Toujo family, ever since childhood. Her devotion to her duty as a guard is a source of contention for Keigo, who would rather have her as a childhood friend than as a protector.
Of course, this protection extends all the way to school, so when Kanade comes across the Eishi Toyoda in class, the heir to the Toyoda family, she is initially hostile. After an attack, Kanade soon ... More...

Despite the premise, this manga seems to strive to include all the regular cliches of a shoujo school life manga. Although the main character starts out very masculine and blunt, she quickly becomes the regular, blushing and weaker-than-all-the-guys-around-her type of heroine. Needless to say, I was kind of disappointed in her character.
In addition, the personalities of the other characters took a little while to understand (or maybe just develop in general?) and it left me wondering what the motives of the characters truly were. The story plays up the feud between the families, but then seemingly quickly resolves it all and the feud doesn't seem to have been a big deal in the first place? And instead of a dangerous fight to the possible death everyone seems to get along just fine and after a couple volumes, all sense of danger seems to have dissipated leaving only romance and friendship and regular teen drama being thrown around everywhere.
I have to say, if you're looking for a school life shinobi story with a little more danger (and thus a reason for there to be kunai-toting ninja in the first place), I'd recommend Shinobi Life over this.
I was just not impressed by this in the least.

Okay, updated this multiple times because the first few chapters are a roller coaster of weird first impressions.
Very pretty art, done bishounen style. If you want your boys sparkly, clean and idyllic here is where you'll get them. Female lead - not sure what to make of her. Is she strong? Is she determined and focused? Is she actually, quite misleadingly "girly"? Honestly, I can't quite answer any of those, and it worries me. Starts to turn into somewhat of a harem - and it's kind of ridiculous in a comical way. Though bizarre, unpredictable and possibly cliche - it's fun to read. Can't say it'll be a keeper, but give it shot for now, eh?

oh, wow, i just realized how weird that phrase above is... anyways, this manga (chap1) is really good. it has to do with modern day ninjas/shinobi, and is simply amazing. the artwork is great, and the storyline is incredible. Can't wait for the next chapter!
You won't regret picking up this one.

Kazamaki is totally awesome!! like, a first class shinobi that's really a girl!! i LOVE that sort of thing. and with a rival family that has a stupid and mad-lucky head is just way to funny!
You won't regret picking up this one.

i found this manga while searhing for something to read, unsure of wether or not to start reading since only a single chapter has come out. i picked it anways and began to read and almost instantly i began to love this story well the first chapter at least. the artist does a wonderfull job and the girl ninja isnt just some clumsy chick. she passes off as a dude while being able to protect her and the one she serves friend. to put it simply the girl aint nothing weak and i just simply loved this story from the first chapter which for me its hard to get me hooked only by reading the first chapter.
As of yet

Oh my goodness, I really didn't expect it to be as good as it is, seeing there isn't a description here on baka... Well in any case, while it may not be the most original of ideas, it certainly changes things up a bit from your regular run-of-the-mill. Often you see males serving females, and thus forming a reverse-harem, but the other way round really isn't much found in much ones that have a crappy female and leading up to a crappy romance. There may be a few out there, but I certainly can't remember one off the top of my head.
Most mangas with female leads out there, and those with female maids and servants, you get more of those mentally weak females than you'd want. While there are plenty of physically strong females, and as much as they act strong, you'd see them getting all depressed or worried over nothing at all. One chapter in so much isn't said here yet, but as far as I can tell that girl won't go crying over every little word or action done by a guy. Refreshing, I'd say.
There's really nothing to complain about the art. While I personally adore the older styles, you see more personality in them, but that doesn't mean that this kind of stuff is bad. Clean, pretty, not much else to say.
