Sunflower is the first book of the third part of loosely connected stories that start in the Ordinary Crush series and move to Freefall Romance before ending here. There's a second edition to Sunflower that isn't out in English yet. I liked that in Sunflower, the main couple goes slow and each one of them grows through both shared and individual experiences. There are three main couples being followed in the book and each of them are unique and interesting. What began as a pretty simple, cracked story in Ordinary Crush has grown into something serious and complicated. The art has also improved since OC. (review based on English language translation)

The three books, sunflower, ordinary crush and the other one (forgot name) was ok but not great. I think the concept is pretty good but the execution is lacking. The development between the characters was slow then suddenly hanging in the next page. I didn't like how the story progress and i think 2 volumes would be too much. i still give it a 7 because it have some great moments/

I think the story got a bit bogged down with setting details, and that seemed to drag on for quite a while.

I think I would have liked it better if it had focused more on the characters.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't very interesting either.

I liked this the most out of the 3. The characters were all great; I didn't expect the little annoying dark haired brat to turn out such a handsome and nice boy. I liked that it was sad and moving. The 2nd couple was interesting as well. The art was great. I'd recommend the whole series to anyone who looks for a manga with lovable characters, some drama and rejection, and not just sex right away.

Before i write anything more, I need to say that the scans for this series that i was able to find were awful in quality, so I was unable to read a small portion of dialogue at times and also didn't get the best impression of the art. However, as far as the story and characters go, they were not bad. At times they lacked depth and the story was ok - it kept you reading but only casually, it doesn't get it claws into you though. In comparison to the related stories (prequels and spin off) this is probably the weaker of them in my opinion. Also, its quite possible to skip this entirely - its related but has no bearing on the previous stories other than having some of the same characters and being based at the same school.
