Wow I really liked this series when i was 13. Watched the anime and then read the entire manga too.

Looking back as a 22 year old, the series was .... terribly cliched and obnoxious.

When I was a child, I loved this series. As I grew up, I still go back to this series from time to time. I wouldn't rate it a 1 cause I grew out of this show. I adore it when I was a child. It is my childhood show and manga to read and it will always will be along with sailor moon. Sure it was cliche, sure it nothing to original. But so what? Not everything has to be new and refreshing and outside the box. This series was for teenager and child's and that what it holds truly. Artwork is adorable. Story isn't original but doesn't have to be. As I enjoy it.

My First Manga

This brings back memories. It's a good story for younger readers, I re-read it a while ago and I can understand why I liked it so much as a kid. Older readers probably won't like it, but it's still one of those cutesy stories that shoujo-fans should try out. It's probably just nostalgic for me because it reminds me of the times I first started reading manga. Still, sometimes I can't help but to go back and reread the series. It'll always be with me because it's such a classic.

As for the cliche remarks, I do not agree. It's terribly hard to make an entirely original manga and since this series was only 7 volumes long it was difficult to get "deep." Instead of judging based on "cliches" which is unavoidable in mangas nowadays, I grade on how the manga was executed. If it kept me entertained then that's good enough.
I'm not looking for character growth and deep plots from a MAGICAL GIRL SHOUJO MANGA.

More nostalgic than good

I'm reading the new printings more for the nostaliga factor than actual liking the story. It came in the same wave of magical girl stuff that Sailor Moon kicked off in North America. It's fun, it's silly, and while I enjoy reading it... it's not very good.

The plot was full of cliches, and not to mention the characters did not develop at all. They were flat and unrounded; the ultimate stereotypes are labelled on each character. Even if they were stereotypes, I would have liked to see them change over the course of the plot and really got to know them. Neither was fulfilled throughout the story. The art is okay, though a manga does not depend solely on visual appeal. It is a typical, boring magical girl story, so I personally don't give it a high rating.

When I was in 3rd grade, I thought this was the most awesome thing ever(It's the manga that got me into manga XD) But, I've read it again now much older and.....it's really, really stupid. It's so confusing, and after you've read it you are just like, ".....wtf did I just read?" But, I have to give it credit for getting me started on manga, so I'll give it a 2.

I've watch the anime and I really liked it but this manga was a real bummer. The only reason I read it all was becouse I was hoping that it would some how get better at the end or something. The TOKYO MEW MEW à LA MODE looks a little more promising but I still have to read it.
I you read tokyo mew mew but have not seen the anime I would tell you to see the anime weather you like the mange or not.

i dont really have a problem with the series. But its just a typical shoujo magical girl series that i feel has no depth to it. Very repeatative to me. The art is okay...

I can't believe this manga is getting so low ratings! I'm actually rereading it whenever I feel like it! ^_^ This manga is so sweet and innocent, and the art is really pretty too!
This manga may be cliché and somewhat naive, but personally I thought it was really charming!
