Good but could be better

Manga was boring, but anime was awesome!
I was so sad near the ending, it was a very touching story for me. Maybe a couple of parts confused me like the sudden population of 'ceres' but whatever. : P

Drama

Overblown storyline, yes. However, Clamp and Watase are the first two mangaka I was exposed to (through a friend), so I'm left with some loyalty to both even when they (it this case Watase) annoy me. The story could have been shorter because the main plot kept getting dragged on to a point where it was almost lost in all of the drama. To those reading for Watase's romance/tragedy it is perfect. For action/suspense junkies like me it prompted more than one roll of the eyes. I'm not going to say it was bad, I liked it, but it's up each reader to decide if the rising action of the story is worth reading through.

No point in the plot.

It seems in every one of Watase's works, she always adds pointless problems to the main characters. When I was reading this series, I couldn't remember all of the major problems as they weren't revelant to the story. It was jumping mainly because new characters are introduced and then the story gets side-tracked by going into their stories and how they're going to help the protagonist. Her numerous works, the reverse-harem theme is getting too old for my taste and I don't enjoy reading even this series.

Summarizing it, I'd said the whole time, Aya has to do everything in her power to convince Aki that they are still loving brothers and sisters. Even though the beginning to the middle sucked, Yuu always manages to end her stories good. But I can't give any of her works high ratings because I would rather read the ending to the beginning.

omg the girl is soooo stupid she keeps annoying me with everything she does I know this is like one of the ´classics´ but I can´t stand the heroin and the guy she likes just pisses me off -_- the whole 'mystery' around him is not doing it for me, I got so annoyed that I read the first 2 volumes and then just skipped to the end. The end is ok but I really didn't like the beginning.

I don't like this manga at all. It's very boring but i guess it is because I am getting bored of the shojo cliches. Anyway, this manga is very fast paced. No real developments between the characters. It was like.. really really fast.

Not your average Shoujo

This manga has it all: blood, violence, fantasy, and of course, romance. The story was interesting, the characters were lovable, and although the ending was a little rushed for my tastes, I feel that it was an overall good read. Good for people who like shoujo but want a break from all of the cliches.

I got about half way through this, and then it just got draggy. There didn't seem to be any real progress in the plot (how to deal with the Mikage) after a while. The drama and tragic elements were to contrived, definitely not tear-jerkers for me. I didn't like the guy she was going to end up with (once it got boring, I looked up spoilers). Aya got real annoying and didn't seem to have much depth. I know that's kind of a trademark of Watase's heroines, but I actually liked FY and Miaka, so I thought I'd give this a try. And it's really violent and bloody.

The art, however, is very nice.

Better than expected

With this series, Watase Yuu have surpassed herself. After recently having finished Fushigi Yuugi (and cursed it), I started reading Ayashi no Ceres without any expetations at all. I was only expecting just another boring nd unrealistic love story-manga and got blood, organisation, angst and death pushed into my face.
This is a series you got to read.

Shifuku No Yorokobi - Extreme Joy

I sometimes found Ayashi no Ceres hard to bear, but when Watase-sama spun all the aspects together, with just a hint of comedic relief by Q-san, it was a very enjoyable manga. Beware violence and sexual themes... *blushes scarlet*
