Hmm... This kind of story is a first for me. I enjoy lighthearted, a little smutty romance... But Model is....hmmm... How do I explain it?
It's like two stories woven into one. I actually wished it was Ken who was the main character here... Michael is just... so...poker-faced!
There are a lot of good scenes and I've felt the sufferings each character have inside. I really hoped it should have been a comedy, like the initial chapter when Michael throws up...but it wasn't. It gets more serious as it gets more complicated. Complication, is, of course to be expected with the vampire's long line of experiences brought about by his immortal life.
As an over-all assessment, it is not recommended for people who enjoys shoujo. I'm even surprised it was categorized as one. But to those who enjoy Goth and supernaturals, this is a book for you.

this story is very interesting! even though I don't really like vampire stories it keeps hooked after I've read like the first chapter. I like this story more than the vampire knight! anyway I highly recommend this manga.

In my honest opinion, I thought it had the potential to be a good story. The art was beautiful, the story was in general a good story, but all in all it seemed so rushed that I felt I had no clue what in the world was going on.
There was no way to grow on a character because the characters in my opinion weren't fully developed in the story. There were big gaps in between characters profiles that made it really hard to grasp what was going on in the story.
I am not a fan of manwha, but it was be the first manwha I've completed, most likely the last as well.

the art is really beautiful...i want more..but it's complete. I think that Tokyopop underrated it though..there's a few sexual scenes, but thats what it makes the manhwa so good!
it disappoints me

i finished this in one go and i agree that Model was more interesting in the beginning. The art is fantastic, I wish i could draw like that. But as for the story, well I got bored of it at around vol. 3 because it started to look like each character was mellowing down and rarely giving any impact. The only thing that got me to actually finish this was because I was curious. The 'why's' of things kept popping up to the point that I barely understood anything.
I was expecting something more from this. The lead girl, completely lost her spunk though she still held a childish maturity and there wasn't much of a change for the rest of the characters at all.
so all in all, this isn't that bad but it isn't all that good either, unless you're into the family drama and more of a psychological read, you'd probably get bored with this too.

Gotta say, the beginning was better...

I liked the story better at the beginning...
Jae had a backbone...then somewhere along the way, she completely lost it....
And I'm not too much of
So it's an interesting story, but there are some things that I didn't like....mainly involving the relationship between the main characters

the human falls for vampire and vice-versa...because well....it's kinda obvious how things will work out down the road...

An unusual manga that was surprisingly very amusing to me. It was a bit confusing at times because they sometimes did flashbacks between flashbacks and then you realize that the 2nd flashback was the present...Maybe I just read it wrong.
Though I do agree that the character developments were lacking, making it seem like the author was focusing too much on the story lines rather than the characters.
It's still a very good read but I suggest that you take it slow while reading this manga or you can get VERY lost in it...

I have been into manhwa lately because the illustrations in them are pretty much different from manga's.
I started reading this series not too long ago. Im on volume 4 right now. Obviously there are more than that, so my review will be based on 4 volumes of Model.
I must say that I was attracted to this series because of the unique plot. I have not read anything like it. It's original. Most of what I read are action/ romance/comedy/scifi.
This is almost completely supernatural. There's romance in there also, but it's definitely not your typical love story.
It's a lot more complicated than that.
There's a lot of mysteries in the manhwa and unfortunately or furtunately (depends on your preferences) we readers are left in the dark most of the time. Luckily the female lead is a very curious girl. I admit she is getting annoying with her constant questions, but it's not as bad as it sounds. she can be quite lovable.
As I said, i like most manhwa's illustrations. this is no exception. the art is really good. very detailed and completely different from your every-day mangas. the illustration is angled and not smooth, but it creates a different atmosphere, which I don't exactly hate. Talking about illustrations, all the characters are beautiful--and they all somewhat look like girls. not that bad of a point. really.
The series is good so far! one secret after another is being revealed, though a LOT of things are still confusing.
Try it.

There were a lot of things I didn't like about this manga. For example, Micheal looked like a woman. I'm pretty sure Michael was supposed to be portrayed as a very beautiful male vampire, but I guess that didn't work out so good; he ended looking like your typical pretty woman. Jae looked good though; kind of like a tomboy but still maintain her chick physiques.
I didn't like how this was supposed to be a deal between Michael and Jae; trading her blood in exchange for him to model for her and it ended going to his past. And it sucks that she fell in love with a female-looking vampire instead of Michael's son, the male who ACTUALLY looks like a male. The characters look kind of floppy, like their limbs have no bones or something and they move their legs around by flopping them. But overall, I think Michael's past does make sense (not the best past). I admire Michael's son's courage for trying to convince Jae to fall in love with him instead but fails. That's about the only part I liked.

At first I shied away from this manga because of the artwork, but I came back later in an effort to finish it. Luckily for me the story proved to be absolutely beautiful. I love the atmosphere that the author has created, and I like how everything is shrouded in mystery. The development of the relationship between Jae and Michael is lovely to watch. I am more than willing to overlook some of the "plotholes" of the story because no romance/mystery manga has captivated me so much.
