Most Beautiful Shojo EVER

This is my all-time favorite manga. The art is beautiful, the story is beautiful, and their relationship makes me sigh (happily. and jealously) =) I'm a harsh critic, and even I give this a 10. I'd give it even higher if it was technologically possible. wink completely recommended.

I don't read a lot of shoujo, and when I do, it's usually a good thing :]
It's so cute I don't know where to start, it just left like a warm and happy feeling with every chapter, made me happy.
Only reason why I gave it a 9 is because I think the relationship started...way too fast. But then again I guess it could happen.

If your looking for something deep, this is not it. They met. They fall in love. There are a few complications but nothing so deep that it causes the sky to fall.

No... seriously, don't. It's a light shoujo, without mindboggling complications and unnecessary drama. A cute girl and a cool guy fell in love- that's it. If you're looking for something more serious, than you picked the wrong genre.

I usually hate shoujo and stereotype them to having bad art, but the art in this series is really beautiful and cute. The story is nothing revolutionary but it's well done. I've recently found some good shoujo(with good art) but unfortunately some are really drawn out and, naturally, become boring. Fortunately, this is not one of them.

Overall it gets a..

Ai hime is the story about a 17 year old girl who starts cohabiting with her non blood related uncle who is only 7 years her senior. However they met before they knew each other earlier and had a very big romantic moment which ended with a kiss. Now these love birds must live together.

This series is neither original nor unique but that in itself doesn't make it bad. I have read the author's other works and they pretty much play the same way as this did. 2 people fall in love, start dating, have sex, the end without any love rivals. I've read 4 of her works and she essentially makes these romance series which is exactly what people are usually asking for. A manga where the dating happens early on, they have sex and their aren't any love rivals. All of them have played this way the only difference being here the MMC is a bit more of an asshole. More shoujo asshole personality. A bit of Gary Sue and it kinda brought the series down tbh.

The series does get relatively better in terms of the male character's personality. It occurs in the last volume so the series ends on a good note.

I mean this series is incredibly straight forward. Sure their are massive problems like how the hell the uncle had never met his niece. Why the parents are letting the uncle take care of their teenage daughter just so they can go around the world. And a bunch of other random ass shit. But this does have all the good stuff. Ending is great. For romance fans i feel like this is pretty much all the fanservice. Kiss scenes specifically are just fantastic. However in terms of good writing its missing some parts here and their.

TLDR: Risk free(relatively) fluffy romance manga. 6/10

Sweet

Personally, I loved it.
Well, the plot IS rather dull in its course, but being a stickler for shoujo manga, forbidden relationships and age gaps, I enjoyed it immensely.
So I guess it's just not for everyone. If you're looking for sophisticated drama, then this is probably not for you. It was a really sweet romance manga but barely any obstacles... actually, I could say there weren't any obstacles at all. I actually prefer it when it's just sweet and non-drama, so that went really well with me, but I know many will probably call it boring.
[I also love Mitsuki Kako-sensei's art style, it's messy in a beautiful kind of way. smile]

Dull

It was a sweet read, but the storyline was pretty dull. It made the whole thing look too easy. When in society that really would not be proper and easily looked at as okay. Art work was frog like.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
a girl is waking home and randomly kisses someone?? So weird. Then he ends up being her caretaker cause her parents aren't ever around. First why wasn't this happening to begin with and second, great parenting. Then they start secretly dating. The whole manga revolves around their house and even though there are friend that make things "difficult". Not really. They end up doing it together. they are suppost to be uncle and niece but they seem to off the bat not really care even if he was blood related. The fact he's in his 20s and her 16-17? Was overlooked easily as well as her losing her flower to him. And to top it off he goes "I want to date her" and the dad just goes "sure, but I'm pissed about it" with a smile?! Really dull.
