Description
From Yen Press:
Maka is a weapon meister, determined to turn her partner, a living scythe named Soul Eater, into a powerful death scythe — the ultimate weapon of Death himself! Charged with the task of collecting and devouring the tainted souls of ninety-nine humans and one witch, Maka and her fellow meisters strive to master their weapons as they face off against the bizarre and dangerous minions of the underworld. But the meisters’ own personal quirks may prove a bigger obstacle than any sultry enchantress.

I love the humor in this series XD it has it's serious side to it. but the humor is plain great. I love death the kid and his "little obsession" about symmetry. I recommend reading it if you want a good laugh smile Wonderful originality by the way.

I absolutely love this manga! I'm not one to get hooked into fighting themed mangas, but I was hooked with this one. I find it strange how the partner of a Meistersinger can take a human and weapon form. I liked seeing the partner of a meister in weapon form, and then seeing being able to see their human selves while they are still in weapon form as they communicate with their meister. I think I mainly love the relationship between meister and weapon; both are willing to risk their life for the other. Tht really showed with Maka and Soul. Also, the comedy in the manga was pretty good. Death the kid's obsession with symmetry is hilarious, and it adds more to his character because depending on how symmetric something is, he'll be fired up to fight, if something is asymmetrical, or he'll be staring in awe at how perfectly symmetrical something is. Ironic how he's obsessed with symmetry yet he has three white stripes on the left side of his hair and no stripes on the right. The only think I didn't like too much, was Black Star; he is rather annoying at times. Still, I definitely recommend reading this!!

The manga and the show is just one of the best shonen i ever read. So far their no over superpowered main character each person in the series is useful plus they all have interesting personalities. I feel this show is really above all these typical shonen series becuse the character. Hopefully the storyline develop even more interesting story.

Seems like after the Book of Eibon arc, the story is just rushed to get to the moon. It's a shame, there were quite a few interesting things that would have benefited from a few more chapters of depth.

The only thing to hope for is that more is added when the volumes come out to connect each chapter a little better....

...or atleast it feels shounen. As the manga builds up, we've recently encountered some actual romantic feelings between the two leads, which gets me on my toes, because its one of the primary reasons on why I read Soul Eater. Love the unique characters and story. It has its own style..

for some reason, when i was in this phase of watching a whole bunch of different animes, soul eater was like one of the last i tried. good thing i decided to. i have never laughed so hard at an anime. of course i had to read the manga after that and i was not disappointed! this is now one of my favorite manga. since discovering, i have purchased all of the current tankobon in japanese and am very satisfied. definitely worth the read!

Definitely unique on it's own way.
Original artwork, especially on the scenery.
The story is the classic shounen-like fighting manga, but the mixture of some crazy elements and the uniqueness of the characters make it far more interesting.Only thing that bothered me is that after chapter 61
Spoiler (highlight to view)
what's with the sudden over buff of the kids? They are like they can fight with Stein on equal terms!Sure, Soul became a death scythe,Black Star mastered the sword,Kid awoke the lines, the side characters acquired battle experience, but for example it took Naruto 3 years to power up and they powered up in a few days!

u seriously have to watch the anime smilesmile
i began the manga and followed with the anime until it ended recently and now im waiting with the chappies.

The fighting scenes in both manga and anime are intense and so cool while being funny bigrazz

The thing bout the manga is the quirky art taste really shows through more than the anime and the fighting scenes become a whole different world! Its a must see.

The thing bout the anime is that its looks a lil different and i guess doesn't have the cool details as the manga but i personally think the art is really well done in the anime as well *thumbs up

haha im a shoujo girl so when i read this, it was like taking me to a whole new world!

With a manga like this, people can hate it, love it, or both. I can see either side. I find it absolutely hilarious to read. The humor is close to mine and it never fails to make me laugh. All the characters are great - even if some of them can be annoying which is fine with me since that is realistic.

The characters have personalities that you may love or hate - just like in real life. What really pulls me into the story is how the creator made it. I love the dark feel of it and the moon and sun is a joy to see. Even makes me smirk at times.

It's true that the anime and manga are different but both of them are very well done. Give it a try if you're curious.
