Description
Nekota and Hoshino were always arguing at school, but in reality, Nekota actually has a crush on Hoshino. One day, he finally gets up his courage to tell Hoshino his true feelings, but she rejected him with mixed feelings. Feeling sad, Nekota goes home to find that his dad is remarrying another woman, but the catch is that Nekota has to live alone with the woman's daughter while the two parents go to Europe. The daughter of the woman, however, is Hoshino... What will happen between the two while they live together?

This is a great story, feels a lot like a test run for Pastel, but it's still a really good story. I enjoyed it.

Really good manga. I love the drawings and characters. However, since I read Pastel first I could always figure out exactly what was going to happen and were continually comparing them. I think I prefer Parallel above Pastel just because it's not as dragged out with filler chapters etc, and I wish I had read this one first. I'll have to rate it at 9.5 because there were so many similarities between them that I could hardly tell them apart at some points. Even the characters looked very alike, and had similar names..

It's quite the amusing story. The plot devices (namely the main character having to move in with the girl) I personally love, and for the same reason, I love Pastel as well.
Kobayashi's artwork is awesome in my opinion. I just love how he draws faces and hair.

Like someone else said earlier, Pastel uses the same plot devices but expands more where this work left off. It also drags on more with episodic filler chapters though. The only thing I didn't like about this manga was
Spoiler (highlight to view)
the typical unresolved open ending left for the reader's imagination on what happens to the couple after they get together.

humm so the same guy who wrote this wrote Pastel, this was pretty good, and i guess the guy who wrote it thought that the story should be expanded, maybe that is why he later wrote Pastel, and makeign it longer.

Simple, cliched romantic comedy ^_^

Story/Plot:-
Average boy meets girl and they somehow end up living together, pretty simple but it works well with the story.

Artwork:-
The artwork is really average, just like this manga and even with poorly drawn male characters at least the girls look good biggrin

Final Thoughts:-
This is a decent romantic comedy and even though it's incredibly similar to it's successor Pastel the story never dragged on. Of course being a typical shounen romance it's packed full off cliches but at least the male protagonist character isn't so submissive, it's just the female protagonist that can get quite annoying. ^_^

its nice and sweet...and yes, there a lot of similarities with Pastel, its like a spin-off or something, like version2(or 1?which is first, parallel or pastel?)..anyways if you liked this one, then you'll surely like pastel better...pastel is a bit complicated and deeper than this one(it should be, coz its longer), but the protagonist is better here, more open with his feelings and also an ace in baseball..

somewhat amazing though that a guy like him could be like by almost any cutest girls he met, haha..

Compare this with pastel. Guy meets girl and falls in love with her but they turn out to be non-blood-related-siblings.
Nevertheless this 4-volume 'short' story has a happy ending.

Well its just like pastel but even though it might feel recycled it still has good art and a good feel to it. I liked it alot and if your into shounen romance then this is should be on your list for sure. I recomend you read pastel though, it just seems like an all in all improved version of this. I probably missed something cause i dont know why its called parallel, I'll reread it in a few months and find out.
