What can I say, I was addicted from start to end. But lets talk about my favourite arcs:

Tournament arc: The journey goku and krillen take to become entrants and then find they are two of the strongest warriors there, sooooooooooo cooooooooooooooool.

Saiyan arc: Main character dies, training was intense, and it was so cool to see all the side characters fight by side by side. Goku defeating nappa was imo one of the best moments of the series.

Namek: Going around finding dragonballs, everything was plotted so cleverly and characters would miss the detection of others by a hare, or be saved by an unpredictable event. Piccolo coming in to save the day was awesome, the old villain just kicking arse, at least for a while.

Love it forever.

Well, I like to think the real dragon ball manga stopped half way through volume 17, when the manga became dragon ball Z. Up to this point the manga is nothing short of classic. I'd rather not talk about what happens after volume 17 however, because although it is a decent fighting manga, it really can't hold a candle to what it was before hand.

when i was like 6-8 years i saw it the first time,and it was love at first sight.
i grew up with the search for the dragonballs...and yes, the moment the plot changed the love was gone...nevertheless it is simply the best manga out there.

Okay, volumes 1-17 (not sure) when goku is still a child, like said in the post right below me, was great. The Red Ribbon Army thing and everything was truly the greatest. The search for the Dragon Balls was also great. But then came when Goku became a father. I'll have to admit that the Saiyan arc and Frieza arc were barely good, although the timing during the final fight with Frieza was somewhat bad. This was due to the fact that they wanted the Dragonballs. After that, it was all fight the bad guy, win a tournament, useless stuff. The first part definitely gets an 8, but the second part gets a 6 (a 5 if this hadn't been one of the first mangas I've read and a favorite until I found different ones).

the show and manga both really kickstarted me loving anime and manga and while i love the show and concept of the dragon balls i wish they would build more without relying on wishing in my opinion the only really good part about gt is how the dragon balls turned against them of course gt screwed that up too but something like that would fit nicely in dbz I don't even care about the overpowered characters i see that as creativity but i don't like how often god level fighters rely on wish orbs.

My friend and I were rereading it (mainly because I have all of the volumes and they were just THERE) but we were like, "There is no freaking way that Goku would grow up and have no physical problems like a normal human being would." And then OF COURSE, he had to be an alien. Our thoughts: Akira Toriyama is the George Lucas of manga.

Anyway, when I first saw this series I think I was 10. I remember watching Digimon around the same time. I just loved it. And I do admit, the story dragged on an on and you were wondering whether it would be over (and then two more freaking spin offs came and you got freaking annoyed), but I loved this series nonetheless. It's a great way to introduce people into anime and manga.

dragonball i have to say started out good,the characters were fairly interesting,but after a while it becomes a boring fest for no reason.
the fact that looking for dragonballs seem to drag on forever,and at times,it seems to forget that there are dragonballs to be taken and...honestly,this is just one of those that i'd just rather not read.

The best manga ever inspired to many other ones this is one of the most action packed most adventures and everything!!
