Description
From Viz:
A moving drama that is heartfelt and true, yet in the brilliant hands of manga artist Mitsuru Adachi, delightfully flows with a light and amusing touch. The series centers around a boy named Ko, the family of four sisters who live down the street and the game of baseball. This poignant coming-of-age story will change your perception of what shonen manga can be.

Note: Won the 54th Shogakukan Manga Award for Shounen in 2009.

damn it i was pulled in

i had read H2 a while back and the ending left so many questions unanswered it left a bad taste in my mouth, so from then on i was anti Adachi fan but being bored got the best of me and i started reading this. Its funny from the first chapter on i was hooked. I like the character developments, of course the little comedy spots here and there are classic Adachi, the romance is brought out better and i feel the hiatus should produce a good ending. on a side note i was the one who asked in the forum "is it worth it?" and here i am pretty much 3 months later praising it so Yes it is worth it.

There should be some warning with that first volume, like being in the Tragedy genre or something. Though, for some reason, I had the feeling something bad was going to happen.

The tragic event in the first volume makes this manga special! There is always an element of sadness due to what happened--I am hooked biggrin

Promising, i've read 8 of adachis longer mangas, i like him, not my all time favorite but he has a certain charm. It can be found here as well. Promises to be one of his best. Drama, some romance, sports and a bit of comedy, a read you should enjoy, if you're into any of the first three genres, the comedy is just a big plus.

Not as good as rest of his works

after reading his other works.....im kinda annoyed by the world revolves around koshien....i dont mind it much..but if it is like part of EVERY single thing it could get extremely annoying. But this manga was was PRETTY likable for the most part, especially the light humor and some of the romance. decent development on both plot and characters (main and side)

however the ending process did kinda leave me peeved, seemed somewhat rushed or with too many holes. but still good. Its Adachi after all

The series thus far has had quite a few emotional moments, as to why they are that is hard to define. An every day thing feels as important as it is for the chars in the series. It has all the possibility of turning into Adachi's best one yet, will have to see how it goes along.

Well, I'm a real Mitsuru Adachi fan, and even if I was born in a country where there is absolutly NO baseball around, I really love all romance-sports mangas from this guy, he is a real god.

So yes this manga is worth reading, but seriously, it's another mix between H2 and Touch, and Rough for the romance storyline...

I enjoy this manga. His art, his style and his humor are quite good. I start to learn baseball rules because I want to understand more of this manga. Sometimes, I get lost because I'm not familiar with baseball. In my country, baseball is unpopular, I don't think we have a baseball team in my country. Everyone talk about soccer and of course I love soccer. But beside that, I love this manga. I really enjoy his storytelling. I feel the love from KO with Aoba, even they don't have to tell. I am an asian, so I understand asian culture. We don't expression the love like the way in USA. In last chapter, I want KO said he love Aoba. But with his ending, I feel love even more. He just holding her hand and wait for a train. It's so touching. When Aoba said he is the people she hate the most in the world. He just talk: she a good liar. So touching in many level.
When I read it, I listen with Chinese music, this feeling even is stronger. If you try to read it for the first time, you should read it and listen to chinese music, such as "reverse (live version)". You can feel the story even more.
