I'm backing Chas on this of course, most people don't really care about a good plot as long as one is there. As long as they get their deaths, apathy and drama, they'll give anything a 9 or 10 based almost entirely on that. The stale unrealistic plot doesn't seem to matter and this manga brings it full force. I mean, who just lets some business man who acts like jack-ass disrespect them and throw there machine gun in the water without saying a word and then lets him join up with them even though he has no skill and doesn't listen without a second thought?

I gave it a ten to bring BLs avarage score up. And to chas: you should take it less seriosly. Its fiction of course it's going to be unrealistic so looking into it is pretty much pointless. Its a nice manga worth at least a eight

This is quite possibly the worst manga I've ever read. Yeah, the art is nice, as the artist has plenty of experience drawing doujinshi under the name of Tex Mex, but he should never have tried to do a fully fledged manga.
The characters are all paper thin, and the action is incredibly dull. It's not just unrealistic, it's unrealistic to the point where it's downright pathetic. Basically, Black Lagoon makes Rambo 3 look like a documentary on guerilla warfare. Instead of making the hero character skilled, the author decided to make the enemies unskilled. It's the Stormtrooper Effect times ten. It allows the Reby (or however you spell her name), to do incredibly stupid things, like running into a room full of bad guys, killing them all, while they kinda just stand there, firing their guns at nothing in particular.
You'll only be able to enjoy this if you're a brainless teenager who's watched too many Tarantino movies. It does everything it can to be "cool" or "badass", but that's exactly what makes it fail in every sense of the word.
Awful.
Edit: To Fumoffu-chan: I enjoyed 300. It may have been exaggerated, but it showed the Spartans use tactics backed up by a lifetime of training, which is the exact opposite of what trash like BL does.
And turn in my manhood, huh? If anything, the people who enjoy watching girls with no tactical understanding run around killing guys are the ones who should turn in their manhood.

Nice art and everything. Absolutely worth the read.
Only thing to complain about is the slow releases =P

This is one of my favorite mangas ^^
The art is fantastic and everything, or at least most of the information in this manga is extremely accurate (including, thank god, the English).
Fight scenes are great and really gives the reader a feeling of movement and impact, and the plot always retains a sense of direction and steady pace.
I love the characters. The protagonist, Rock, who is really just resigned to his fate (hah), and the badass female gunner with a mysterious past make for very entertaining dialogue and chemistry.
Read at least 3 chapters or so and you will be hooked.
