This story has the standard fare of them not getting together repeated a few times already this far into the scanlations. Each one has a logical reason and a quick conclusion though, so even though it feels as the same old thing it works very well.
The art is good, not the best I have seen, but nice. The story idea is also very nice, it has been done before I think, but not often enough to feel used. All in all it is very nice, if it picks up a little more this might reach a 10.

this is such a wonderful manga, i especially love when they flashback to the historical times, showing Hikaru's pain.. i always cry because he's such a fool for hurting the one he truly loves... i love the artwork and it is definitely a must-read!!
I have never read Tales of Genji, so ppl who have might not really enjoy this series. However, it is a bit different from my understanding of the original novel, and I find the manga to be highly entertaining. So Read Away ppl!
