When the secrets got revealed, I mean honestly the way the past was revealed, the main characterz actions, all dat, amazing. But after that, it again got bad. Basically beginning k, middle amazing, end not gud at all. the high rating is cus the middle is amazingly awesome.

What an amazing read. The art is not the best but the story is so good that I can look over it. I won't say anything other than give a read, if you dislike the art just grit your teeth and give a go. You will not regret it. Wish more group translate manga's that focus on story such as this.

The beginning to middle was pretty interesting with a lot of twists.. The second half I became very dull. Ending was a bit disappointing. I would also not say this Manga had any real "romance" in it. Artistry could have been better I think.

straight off the bat it starts with a confusing battle against the Vampire king and some other people.. The story then slowly unfolds.. With the king giving many mixed signals of things.. Then when everything was found out about his true intentions.. I felt it went downhill from there. I found some characters to be too dramatic in odd moments.. I also fealt the story wasn't perfectly connected. The ending was too simple.
Brilliant

I read this entire manga in one sitting because i loved that much, the amount of plot twists in this story was just incredible and i mean that in a good way, you think you finally understand the situation and BAM theres more to it or theres a twist to it.

The part where you find out the whole truth always brings a tear to my eye. I mean especially with everything he went through with his wife and child being killed and then having to fight their soul constantly and not alowing himself to die all for the sake of everyone else

I really liked the beginning but the plot twists threw me off.
There were many plot twists that seemed unnatural or impossible, especially
The hardest part for me to really accept about the story was the fact that there would be someone/something willing to sacrifice their own happiness/future to such an extent for the sake of others. This is also why I give it a 9 instead of a 10.
Yet the work itself is quite intriguing, and I often find myself rereading it. I also like how it didn't create a "bad" character, because really, each character should have his or her own circumstances. This leads to different characters being "bad" from different points of views. All in all, I find this take on vampires very interesting as usually in pop culture they are blood-thirsty and violent whereas here they really seek to create peace with the human race and the dhampirs actually want to become human.

regarding Strauss' suffering throughout the years... for a human. Yet, Strauss was not a human but a vampire who lived over 1000 years. The knowledge and resolve that he gained through his many painful experiences have shaped him into an all-powerful godlike king who can disregard his emotions for the sake of his country.
It is unreasonable to compare him to human standards, and claim that due to "human nature" no one would be able to sacrifice him/herself like that. We do not have 1000 years of firsthand experience nor the feeling of being all-powerful.

I love it and all it's just that I have a question that keeps bugging me. If the black swan is strong enough to kill the vampire king. Why don't they kill the queen at the beginning, saving all of humanity for good, and kill the demon king? I still love the manga though.
beautiful ending

I actually cried at the end of this manga.. and usually I'm the type who doesn't cry for ANYTHING. the main character of this manga is too perfect and amazing- I couldn't help crying for him
it almost seems like most of this manga is mystery-uncovering the past, and discovering more amazing things akabara had done.
I honestly did not care much for this manga until the later chapters, but the ending is seriously beautifully done- enough to make me cry even with the excessive perfectness of the main character that usually makes me scoff at the unrealisticness of the manga.

So ive enjoyed the read. A storyline with many twists that keep me turning and anticipating. I like almost all the perspective of the story, from the art, the story, the characters, the twists and turns, the style, etc.
But 1 thing i must say is it was too complex piled into one. I actually slimmed through most of the useless parts. Would perfer the story to be more well organised, where the art aint packed and jumbled so much.
All in all a 8 for me.

This is one of the few mangas I would bother trying to convince others to read. The story is very unique and interesting, with plot twists that aren't too far fetched considering the evidence and foreshadowing provided previously.
I really like Strauss too. It seems like he's really in control of the situation.
I'd have to partially agree with the comments which say the art is bad. It's not terrible. It's tolerable. But it's definitely not the greatest. Most of the female characters have bad taste with clothes. XD

This series has very nice artwork, a brooding but powerful (and very cool) protagonist, a number of humorous and some rather heart-wrenching moments, and a well-developed back story (or so it actually appears).
My only real gripe with it is that while it supposedly is about vampires, there's very little to tell that we're dealing with vampires except fear of sunlight. Apparently they have a body made of pure of magic, and I've yet to see one draw blood.
