19, have never liked the idea of getting married ever since I was young.

My country (Germany) has this law that married couples have to pay less tax than somebody staying single. As much as I like the extra money, it's not really worth it to give up my freedom and frivolous playful life-style.

28, not even thinking of marriage at this point in my life. Not anymore.

Also I wonder. If marriage is so bad, then why are so many same-sex couples fighting so hard to get it? Very confusing phenomenon indeed.

Simply because they can't have it, it's like when you take a toy a kid is not playing with and the kid suddenly wants to play with it, explanations and justifications can come later, at the moment you are denied something, you want it all the more. It's some sort of odd things all animals have on their behaviour, things become valuable when they are hard to get.

It also has to do with the idea of introducing same sex relations on a standard equal footing, long time ago the idea of marriage for love or ideals was odd, it was more of a family contract, yet now it has a totally different meaning, the point being that it would represent the acceptance of their situation, or at least that's how it is interpreted.
Nobody really cares about a thing so much as what that things does or represent right?

Marriage is shit. I'd only get married for financial reasons of course!~ Also People are gross, I'd rather watch my cute anime girls/boys.

I am 23 and married. I was engaged for 6 years going to 7 years before I finally got married.
I always wanted to get married young, and only get married once in my life. Hence why I had the long engagement. As for the marrying only once thing ... Well I already told my husband many times I would never agree to a divorce, even if he turns out to be gay (Highly doubt he would), or if one/both of us fell out of love with each other. ( If he wanted that divorce so badly it would end up a long drawn out, and costly thing for him to do .... I think he would resort to other options if he wanted out laugh )
My goal is to hit that 50 year anniversary. (Hopefully all goes well)

because there are a lot of legal and financial benefits that come with being married. you get a tax break. you can visit them as family in the hospital. you can inherit from them in case of sudden death with no legal will. you can sponsor their visa if they live in another country. the list goes on and on. if a drunk girl and dude getting drive-through married in vegas have all those rights, why not everyone else?

26, it would be nice to get married someday if the right dude comes along, but if not then whatever. i'm quite happy with my life biggrin to me marriage has always been part love, part friendship, part business contract. it's like two companies merging together. gotta work together everyday to keep the business running.

I want to get married, but weddings cost so much!

I'd rather have a year long honeymoon laugh
