The difference between homograph, homonym, and homophone. Which I had to read a few times to make sure I completely understood the difference ...

Oh, Jesus. This is too hard for me not to reply. Forgive me in advance... or not.

Quote from Doormouse
There is a survival rate of 24% for stowaways in airplane landing gear. I can't believe multiple people are crazy enough to attempt this.

You seriously can't believe it? Try living in an oppressive, third-world country or be a criminal wanted dead or alive for committing a fairly small crime, like stealing food to survive. Wouldn't seem so crazy then.

Quote from Knightzomegaz
Never bring large sums of money in your wallet,
Get a card (credit, atm, etc...)

And, call someone (for me, it's my auntie cause she's a manager in different branches of the same bank, heh, very nice job btw) if you lost your cards, to get it cancelled immediately...
Only do this if you're a 100% sure that you lost them...

Cancel it even if you're not 100% because you can just get a new one mailed to you and use cash or checks in the meantime. You may not get your cash back even if your identity is stolen (unless you have insurance coverage for it), so don't procrastinate.
Also, when in large cities, put your wallet in your back pocket sideways because it's almost impossible for a pickpocket to steal. Applies to males only, sorry.

Every story has two sides.

You just learned this? no

Quote from mysstris
I'm in college, I learned more than one new thing today and I don't want to list them

...Was it really worth posting that? Do you want a medal or something? laugh

As for me, today I learned what a sapiosexual is... Not quite sure what is my perspective on this topic yet, but I'd like to meet one and discuss it with.. him/her/it/whatever-they-call-themselves.

It's not like they are a new gender. It's just where you place intellectual qualities above physical appearances in terms of attractiveness. Something like that physically impossible because we are genetically programmed to determine sexual attractiveness based on physical features, but it is a large factor, especially when you're older and looking for somebody to be with long-term or reproduce with. Then again, desperation and income are also big factors. I've seen plenty of girls get with unintelligent guys based solely on looks, especially those who commit crimes. See Jeremy Meeks.

Quote from distraughthallelujah
I learned how to say "F-off" in Korean. Now I can curse at people without their knowledge. ^_^

Yeah, I remember doing stuff like that and thinking it was cool when I was 12 too. roll

Quote from caozhi
Today I learned that if she says "I hate you" it actually means she really likes me.

Or maybe, just maybe, she really doesn't like you. laugh Kidding, if you're young then it's probably ok. Listen to their tone and read their body language to find the truth.

I admit a good part of what I read in the last few pages was interesting, in particular the one about using a decoy egg to encourage hens to lay eggs where you want. eyes

I learned that, sometimes, crime does pay. laugh Kidding, I've always known that bigrazz

I swear, so many people on this site are so full of themselves. A lot seem to think they always have an "intelligent and/or logical" point or show signs of a superiority complex. They never admit they're wrong. Maybe partially, but excuses abound! :\

@That3rdGuy
is it so bad that people are just posting what they want? you don't have to criticize them for learning something that you already know or does not fit with your own opinion. this topic is not some battle to decide who knows more then who, let people say what they want without having to be bashed on for no reason please.

as for what i learned
don't try and have multiple computers on Ticketmaster at the same time when the kcon tickets first go on sale, their servers will block you

Gorgonzola cheese makes a world's difference.

I made steak alfredo for dinner tonight, the same way as always. Expect I brought Gorgonzola, to add to it. (Since I usually order the Steak Gorgonzola at Olive Garden). Again made dinner the same as I always would, but added that cheese. Dinner was a lot tastier than normal ... Too bad there isn't any leftovers ... >.>

Still in shocked at how one ingredient made a huge impact.

That school is going to be harder than I thought. Thank God not this semester, though. Oh and a lot of classes put the time and teacher as TBA and then when you call the department they tell you that it doesn't. I also learned that a Colossal squid can grow up to 49ft

I learned that quoting Ricky Gervais in a Mary Sue article's comments section talking about fat shaming is a quick way to get all your posts banned.
