I'm looking for a manga about someone who is senselessly killed despite being a good, nice person who is greatly loved or loves others (and despite the title, they don't have to be young). I'd really like it if they were betrayed by people they loved or trusted or trying to help, but if it doesn't have to be that specific. By senselessly murdered, I mean that I want it to be a random act of violence or the result of something like a frenzied mob or (temporary or permanant) insanity. I suppose an assassination is okay as long as they fulfil the other requirements. They could also be offered up for sacrafice or some other martyr-ish death.

It doesn't have to be the main character, but I'd like it if the character left a lasting impression on the protagonist. I'd like them to be relatively important, not like, a random inn keeper takes in our heroes and clothes and feeds and shelters them and hides them from the antagonist's minions who kill him when he refuses to give up their location. NOT like that, please.

No yaoi, yuri, shounen ai, shoujo ai, or hentai please and thank you (Also, I LOVE oneshots!)

Some examples:
You, Me and the End of the World, a oneshot from Arcana - Demons is a perfect example and what inspired me to make this post, since I'd love to see more like this.
The Kind Black Witch, another oneshot from Arcana - Wizard and Magician is also a good example that helped me formulate this request XD
Winry's parents from Full Metal Alchemist since they were killed by someone they were trying to help, though I'd have liked them to be a bit more important
Koinzell from Ubel Blatt is another good example though I'd like to see a bit more about crushed dreams and broken trust and shattered innocence

I guess Hello Baby is a one-shot that could fit in what you are searching. He tries to do the right thing but as they say s**t happens.
