Err.. No. So far, I always find myself rooting for the main guy. It's just.. you know, like destiny, or something like that. It should be the main guy in the end, he is the chosen one haha

I sometimes root for the second guy. In fact I was wondering if there was a manga that seemed like typical jerk main guy and nice secondary guy in which the heroine realizes the first is a jerk and goes for the second. That would take a smart girl who isn't clueless too, ha.
Like others said, it does depend on the manga. Jerk guy/rapist needs to go away and put in jail (ugh... mangas that think rape or attempted rape is something to just "get over" piss me off), but a nice guy that knows how to treat a girl is cool. There's a difference between teasing and just being plain mean.

I think it depends on who it is. If I don't like the main guy then I'm all for the second. And the second seems sometimes more fitting for the lead then the main guy in some mangas...I've gotten really frustrated on it before it's like when you read the end sometimes the second guy doesn't even find another girl. Usually he's like I will wait for you till then...( which will never come ) or cries and turns depressed while the girl feels sorry. Sometimes she doesn't even notice it.

In some mangas, yes. Especially when I really hate the main guy. It's just so sad to see him all alone (especially when he doesn't end up with anyone) when all along he's the better guy and the main guy's such a Ken.

YES! Almost always! I can't get over how stupid those heroines are, when the best guy is right next to them and they go on weeping over that jerk. I tend to hate the main guy, either that or he bores me. And besides, the second guy is always hotter. o.O
With long hair.
Lol.
But yea, that's the story. There's exceptions, but rarely. Like I rooted for the main guy in Seimaden, but that's cause the main guy acts like the second guy. The whole manga feels like something you wouldn't find in anything other than a gaiden. Which is why I loved it really.

Not really. As much as the first guy is usually a jerk, if the girl's heart and emotion isn't into the second guy, what's the point? She just ends up stringing him along. If the guy is okay and recognizes that, ready to take the risk of heart break, like in ao haru ride, I'm fine with it though.

Oh my goodness, yes! I'll be so mad if Sul doesn't end up with In Ho.
Lol anyway, to address the OP, I usually like the second guy better than the first (for example, in Cat Street I was really happy about who she ended up with).

i root for the second guy a lot, especially if the main guy's a jerk and the second guy is nice and considerate.
really depends on the manga i guess.

It varies among manga, but I usually find myself rooting for the main guy. The moment the main guy gets overly possessive, angsty, or just plain cruel to the main girl, I drop it, so I don't usually deal with main guys who are horrible. Also, I'm kind of a "go-with-the-flow" reader. I trust the author (who understands the characters and their feelings better than us, the readers) to make the best decision. Though recently, many shoujo manga seem to feature two guys who are both a good fit for the main girl. For example, I don't know if I'm alone on this, but I find myself rooting for Kikuchi in Ao Haru Ride.

Yeah, just because it makes the story pretty interesting and less predictable.
And sorry to hijack the thread, but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for manga that does have the second guy ending up with the girl. Looking for one right now, and I can't find any at the moment. Thanks.

Seconding Cat Street
There's also Tonari no Atashi. I think if you search through the forums, there are some topics dedicated to this.

This is how I'm feeling now lately with shoujos+ love triangles. I'm now just going with the flow lol. But like you said there have been a rise of shoujos with love triangles where both guys are exceptionally well like Kyou no Kira-kun, 360 Degrees Material and even Hirunaka no Ryuusei and I just cant seem to choose, so I remain neutral now. But Ao Haru Ride is an exception for me because I actually want her to end up with Kou since he only acted indifferent towards her because of his pass :/
Also @Keilis have you tried Moe Kare!!, Ouji to hero, beast harem,Nakanmon!, love berrish, deep love virus

It depends on the story. I am all about things making sense to me, so if the romance between the girl and the "it" guy seems legit, I don't mind it.
For example, in Beauty Pop Kiri ended up with the main character, Narumi, even though there was another character vying for Kiri's affection, Kiri never even made a motion that she might consider him. So in this case, I wouldn't have liked it if she had ended w/ boy B.
On the other hand, Hoshi wa Utau, I hated the end pairing. That romance never made sense to me. Main guy, Chihiro, meets main girl Sakuya, aka Saku, lies about knowing her, celebrates her birthday with her and at the end of the first chapter tells her she's awesome, and she's suddenly in love. That was it, he was a total jerk to her, yet her feelings kept growing. I can understand a crush, it would have been cool if she had a crush on Chihiro, and then she moved on from said crush to something that made sense. I hate childhood friends become lovers most of the time, but in the case of HwU, her friend liked her and when he confessed she cried cus she couldn't return his feelings, even though she said that he was like the sun, that he made her feel good...blah blah...that makes sense to me if she had fallen in love with him, because there was history there and because the only reason she fell for Chihiro in the first place was because he told her she was awesome. Pretty shallow reason to fall for someone
Same thing happened in Ouran High School Host Club. I would've preferred if she had stayed with Hikaru, at least for a bit, cus it's kinda boring when you can tell or are not surprised when the main couple is revealed.
So maybe not happy, but sometimes girl needs/should stay with boy B.
