I don't mind some romance, but if possible, I'd like to avoid it for the sake of the manga not focusing on it. I already read Junji Ito's works, so those are out.
Something like Hiki, Mail, Forest of Lore, Fuan no Tane, Ibitsu and so on.
Oneshots are welcomed (Even better if the manga has just a bunch of oneshots)
I REALLY love ghost stories so I'm hoping there is some I haven't read yet.
Edit: Yes, I know there is a genre search for them, but I'd really love to hear personal choices and ones specifically like the ones listed (Because the ghost category is pretty large, it's hard to find ones I'd really enjoy.)
I'll list the ones I've read if they're listed somewhere along the way but I'll start off with a few.
Read: (All the ones listed above) Ghost Hunt Shinrei Tantei Yakumo Pinky Promise Princess The Ring Junji Ito works Corpse Party series Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Umineko no Naku Koro Ni Higanbana no Saku Yoru Ni Kami no Hidari Te Akuma no Migi Te / God’s Left Hand, Devil's Right Hand Mantis Woman Screaming Lessons Goth Shiki Gakkou Kaidan Zashiki Onna

A lot of people seem to like Kami no Hidari Te Akuma no Migi Te. Series of 5 stories across 6 volumes. I read the first story and while the art was quite good, I wasn't satisfied by the its end. You might like it though.

Ah! I read that one, too. Really interesting read, thanks for suggesting it, though! I like series like that, too . *U*

Screaming Lessons should fit, each chapter another "myth"

Kara no Kyoukai series. But then i would choose to see the movies instead of reading the manga. Since they are more complete and have really cool art. You can watch them online if you search on google.

Goth and Black Jack (though this has some comedy elements) are both really good.

Quote from Lorska Ah, I'm currently reading this one, it's perfect because it's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for.

No problem. I watched it here http://anilinkz.com/kara-no-kyoukai-movie-1 there are 7 anime movies following the same 2 main characters. Really cool. Combination of psychological thriller, action and horror. There is a romantic subplot that fit in really nice and that works like a red line. I would say its quite a epic story.
And i forgot! The movies should be seen in this order http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kara_no_Ky%C5%8Dkai#Chronologi cal_timeline

Since you read Kami no Hidarite, you could try some other works of UMEZU Kazuo.
Oh, and Gakkou Kaidan seems like a good choice too. There's not much scanlated, though.

Shiki has both a manga and an anime. Fuyumi Ono, the author of Shiki, is also the author of Ghost Hunt. If you watch the anime, Shiki can be a bit slow in the first few episodes but then later the anime gets really good.
And if you don't mind other anime recommendations: Ghost Hound forgoes the gore and goes instead for a creepy, almost psychological approach.
Fuyumi Ono also made a light novel that fits your criteria (except it's not a manga, of course). I mention it here just in case it might interest you. This creepy horror-fantasy novel is about a student teacher named Hirose and his mysterious student, Takasato. It's called Masho no Ko (Demon Child) and there are online english translations, which are found in this link. This is one of my favorite supernatural horror stories, written by my favorite author, so I couldn't resist mentioning it.

I would second Gakkou Kaidan and Shiki. Zashiki Onna is a good story from the 90's, some parts made me cringe.

Oh man I haven't realized I read a lot of these (Too much of a horror junkie OTL)
Funnily enough, I've read Gakkou Kaidan just before making this thread.
I haven't watched Ghost Hound, yet, but gore is absolutely fine, too! Psychological thrillers or stalker stories (like Zashiki Onna and kinda like Ibitsu) also catch my interest. I don't remember too much of Zashiki Onna, though, I'm gonna reread it now that it's been brought up, thanks!

How about Another? It's based off a novel, but I've only watched the anime, so I don't know how good the manga is. Not that scary honestly, more mystery but still, I enjoyed it.
