I'm sick of looking for horror and just getting thinly veiled hentai. I'm sick of typical shounen leads. You know, the 100% average guy in looks, smarts, and personality.. the guy whose only good point is that he's sort of nice? Sick. Of. It.

I want REAL horror! I've read everything by Ito Junji! I've tried stories that had similar art, but they were all simply mindless gore. There's nothing scary about that it's just gross is all.

I want the same chill you get when reading the story about how a crazed woman (who we're not sure really exists!) takes the place of your younger sister! Even Zekkyou Gakkyuu is pretty good! Even though the art is on the "eyes bigger than the face" side and the characters are young, the stories are good!

I don't want ecchi that's pretending to be horror. I don't want shoujo that claims to be horror because there's a vampire. I want something that will keep me up at night!

Please and thank you <3

Go play Corpse Party Blood Covered (and/or its sequel Book of Shadows) They are considered visual novels so they're on the database... http://vndb.org/v2632

That's all I can do to help, sorry shy

Orphan movie

I've read that kind of stories, but most of them are quite short and mature... Btw, have you tried Ibitsu? Kinda creepy-crazy

Ibitsu, I think that's the sister story you mentioned.

You have probably read it alredy (i think) but Higurashi no naku koro ni. I've read some of the manga and watched the anime, I think it's really creepy (and crazy).
Hope it helps! smile

Honestly, manga isn't a very good medium for horror (yes I read Ito Junji's stuff but they were more weird than scary imo). If you don't mind games, I suggest checking out some freeware horror games like Yume Nikki, Ib, Slender, SCP Containment Breach or SCP-87b. The first two were meh in terms of horror but Yume Nikki had a very unique atmosphere while Ib was just an overall enjoyable experience. The latter were just jump out and scare the living daylights out of you while having an immersive atmosphere.

If you're ok with light-novel try Ghost Hunt (Novel).
There's manga version of it, but the novel is far superior. The first book didn't exactly deal with a supernatural being, but the latter volume does. By far, I think volume 5 is the scariest.

And if you're ok with one shot, try this. The link goes straight to the webtoon page since I couldn't find MU's link for the series.

Very, there's some in there that really freaked me out. But about 75% of them don't give you a satisfying ending.

Loved both.

The second link? I LOVE that comic. Adore it. I squealed like a piglet the first time I read it.

Unfortunately, I'm not particularly interested in playing a horror game or reading an actual novel. I enjoy horror the most when my brain is mush from school and work, so it's either manga or movies.

Ib and The Witch's House are pretty similar to manga if you ask me; you just move around.
Besides, they aren't worth missing.
