I asked my twin sister if she liked pokemon or digimon and she said she liked both but she said pokemon was better. Personally, I think digimon is better because the characters are more likeable, especially Taichi Yagami, Whats yours?

Come on! That's just a matter of preference! Those who like Pokemon will say Pokemon is better than Digimon and vice versa...

Personally I like Digimon more for it's anime then anything, but I like Pokemon for it's games. So I guess it's 50/50 for me. Perhaps I'll go an re-watch some Digimon since it has been awhile.

I agree with Zyibis. Digimon had a way better story than Pokemon, but the Pokemon games were a lot more fun since it was originally designed to be one. It's more fun to actually catch them all than watching someone else do it.

What do you mean by "It's more fun to actually catch them all than watching someone else do it."?? Because the last Digimon game I played also involved getting (in a sense catching) all the Digimon.. I think that was for DS..

I wouldn't necessarily say that the one is better than the other. Asking things that directly tends to provoke people on the internet and tends to bring out flame wars and biased opinions.
If I were to say which of the franchises I preferred, it would be Digimon due to the versatility of the Digivolutions, the story of the Anime and its protagonists and for the simple fact that Digimons could talk.
Pokemon has such an awesome turn-based RPG and a huge amount of Pokemon with skills, attacks and abilities. I don't like the anime because of Ash Ketchum and his overpowered Pikachu.
I also wasn't a fan of Misty and Brock or the other girls that replaced Misty because I'm not a fan of tsundere-ish girls. The Pokemon Special / Adventures / DP manga are quite cool though.
The Digimon World game on the DS is quite hard to get a hold of (and definitely looks great), but I did enjoy the Digimon World games on the PS.

I think game-wise pokemon>digimon, mainly because of the larger number of monsters to obtain. It is also more popular in terms of sales and sequels. With that said, I actually liked the digimon style, the gameplay, the way to evolve (or different evolutions based on specific stats), but digimon was always about getting "THAT" digimon, the main ones from the series, wargreymon, etc. There was really no real variety of digimon, not to the extent of pokemon red/blue,.and certainly not to the extent of pokemon now.
The more recent pokemon also have a lot more variety d/t potential values, etc., and the various add-ons to the game allows for lots of things to do aside from just beating gym leaders. I think if pokemon potential values followed digimon's training style, it'd be a lot better, and have more variety in evolution.

I was talking about Pokemon and how it was more fun to catch 'em all in the games than watching Ketchum. Although now it's more fun to play competitive battling (which is surprisingly deep for a children's card... er, video game) than collecting. As for Digimon games, the last one I played was for the PS2 or something, and it was a fighting game thing since I was never interested in Digimon games.

I liked the first pokemon, with ash, misty, brock and pikachu the best. The games were better too. I didn't get to see many digimon episodes when I was younger as the whole world was enveloped in pokemania, and that includes my country

The first digimon anime was much better than any pokemon anime. The pokemon manga, however, has a fantastic storyline.
As far as games, it's Pokemon hands down.
Monster design? Probably digimon. But the original pokemon had more of a pet feel to them that, ironically, made their ownership more realistic.

It's a draw to me kind of ... ( I've only seen them, never read or played anything related to the two)
When I think of the first seasons I like Digimon A LOT more than Pokemon, but when I think of how the shows progressed I disliked how Digimon introduced all those cards and other unnecessary stuff. Unlike Pokemon where it seems to have the same core through-out the seasons. I really did enjoy the first Pokemon movie, but the show just seems to be telling the same story, but in a different way.
Overall I started to dislike both, but if I had to pick one I like better it would be Digimon since I liked the 1st season so much.

I don't like either of them much. Am I getting kicked out? :haha
Hmm... It's gotta be Pokemon if you ask which one is just better.
Talking about the anime, Pokemon (with Ash) is bad and boring; as a kid I found Digimon much better. Looking back from today, I think both are not very good, though...: As for the manga, non-Ash Pokemon obviously beats Digimon's manga.
One thing that makes me think Pokemon is better is that the monsters are thoroughly designed and the 'history' is also better created. And yep, the games are fun, too.
