Hi guys,

I'm looking for a seinen/shounen in which the main character refuses the responsibilities or fate that he has to take on. It shouldn't be by cowardice but rather because it does not fit their personnality and they don't want to be part of the "grand scheme of things" for example.

I hope I am clear enough ^^'

Examples that pop into my mind:
Superior
En passant maybe
...

Thank you for your help

Just had a look at it and it looks really promising, it is spot on. Thx for the recommendation!

I am already reading Hidan no Aria and Denpa Kyoushi bigrazz
Hyouka is very good suggestion though, the fact that there is a "mystery" related plot is definitely a plus. Thank you very much.

If you have any more suggestions please go ahead!

Fujimura-kun Meitsu

There's categories for "Reluctant protagonist" and "Reluctant Hero"

http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?category=Reluctant+ Hero

Not a whole lot of tags, though.

The protagonist in INUI Sekihiko's Ratman is unwilling at first which is understandable. Which superhero fan would want to fill in the role of the super villain for a self-proclaimed evil organisation? Starts off as an amusing Shounen but becomes more serious as the story progresses.

Iris Zero by PRO Shiki/ HOTARU Takana also has a great, fairly reluctant male lead. I won't say any more about the reason for his reluctance nor for his support later on but I can assure you, it's an unusually executed story that is worth every minute you spend on reading it.

Thank you guys, I have quite a long reading list now.

I do second the fact that Iris Zero is an excellent read.

I also second Iris Zero and I think main character from Eyeshield 21 is pretty reluctant too .
