a more serious manga in regards to the romance. I would really love to read a manga in which the main character and theitirartner have a toxic relationship and yet they're infatuated with each other. and maybe they stay together because they found a solution and maybe they don't stay together.maybe they go off to find someone else. or maybe they decide to stay single but are happy. preferably a happy ending but I am willing to do tragedies. I guess what I really want to read is the complexities and difficulties that relationships and romance undergo realistically. I want to see a lot of character development in regards to their maturity overall

You could try Cheese in the Trap, its not a manga its a webtoon but it is the most realistic romance I have seen, plus it has very good character development too. Its a little slow starting but the more you read it the more you cant stop eek

you could try Kabocha to Mayonnaise its not really a toxic relationship but it deals with relationship issues in a realistic way iirc
maybe Ai-Ren
or Onani Master Kurosawa but this one is a bit different (not strictly romance, but a lot of character growth)

Thank you for the suggestions. Ah, yes I am reading Cheese in the Trap already but, I am not very fond of Onani Master Kurosawa. If you have anymore I would appreciate it.

I preferably suggest Solanin and you can try Mars, too. Both are realistic, Mars with great character development but they aren't love-hate-relationships.

What do you mean by toxic? Like in an obsessive love?

Anyway, I can only recommend you to read YOSHIDA Motoi's Natsu no Zenjitsu. It's one of those painfully realistic series, but you'll have to read between the lines to get a grasp on the protagonist's considerable character development (cf. Dirty D and the Crew's review, beware of spoilers). Highly expressive art and storytelling.

By the way, I second all of the above mentioned suggestions.
