New Group Policy
Due to some recent developments, we have decided to slightly change our scanlator group policy. As usual, for a scanlator group to be approved on MangaUpdates, you must have at least one of the following:
The change is that you may now provide a Batoto group link in lieu of a website (so put it in the website field). An example of such a link for AquaStar Fansubs is here: http://www.batoto.net/group/_/a/aquastar-fansubs-r111.
Please note that due to the developments linked above, this Batoto link will not be visible to the public. It is for our purposes so that we can easily verify the legitimacy of a release.
PS: If you are backlogging release entries for groups that were previously not allowed, please provide the actual date of release.

Does this also count about other non-profit readers or non-profit distribution sites?
But, please, don't let online-readers with their mass advertising eat of this cake.
And what about Mangatr*ders? Their somewhere between them, some groups use it to release their stuff on. For example Hox releases Vinland Saga on it.

Well, since it's come to this I went ahead and found a program that lets me download chapters from online manga sites. I don't like reading online and had to download the chapters page by page before when no download link was available (or hope they'd show up on MangaTraders).
Since you guys are now allowing groups without actual sites to post releases, the chances that we'll see more chapters just go to online readers only just shot up exponentially.

I only like webcomics (webmanwha) online.
For others I prefer download.
I want to download it anyway before I start to read it. As it is really annoying if you're reading something online and then suddenly the servers goes bye bye half way in a chapter (For example, I was reading King of Hell on the scanlators reader and suddenly the site was gone while I was on page 13, 14 or 15 (can't remember it well).
Small note, those online readers for money use the reader link more than the download link, as those download link have protection to prove your humanity. So, the online reader site can't download it automatically. (Note: I'm not so well informed about this, but you can find ripping software everywhere.)

There is absolutely no good reason to allow online reader only groups to be seen as legitimate.

And yet its still not permissible to link to the ehentai online reader for h-works, where certain scanlators work exclusively.

Maybe it has something to do with the hard core stuff you find on it...

I want to add my exclusive opinion:
Groups like this:
http://www.mangaupdates.com/groups.html?id=2204
should at least provide the homepage: http://www.cxcscans.com
I dont like *censored* facebook.
I would love it to add it on mangaupdates...but that is only allowed for officials....
Sad world.

>useless info
>still no solution of this problem from MU staff
>even though some random anon found it 12+ hours later that day
Welp, back to Mangaupdates Groups Fix, since it's useless to wait something from staff.

Is the MU staff still planning to bring back the group links? Did you run into any trouble implementing the planned filter?
