Romance like Beauty and the Beast
(3 posts, 1238 views) Posted: over 9 years ago by Karura Himura in I'm Looking For...
Hi!
I'm looking for a romance where one of the MC isn't human but some kind of monster. I don't want demon lords/princes and such but an ordinary non-human. One with no influence whatsoever in the world or overly powerful. Remember how the Beast was royalty but all he had ...
insightful and manipulative

That's totally Warau Kanoko-sama. Insight from obsessive observation. Obsessive as in not becoming involved with her classmates for the sake of objective information.
Okay, my brain needs stimulation...

Books:
The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss, is simply amazing. Excellent storytelling, superb world-building and awesome characters.
Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchet, these authors have already been recommended, and it's no wonder, really. They're just...
Female Vampire Human Male
(12 posts, 11594 views) Posted: over 12 years ago by Karura Himura in I'm Looking For...
Never read the manga you mentioned, but Orange Marmalade and Karin have the female vampire/human male theme, and those are all the titles I can think of right now.

Also, I'm pretty sure there's already a thread like this, did you searched the forums?

EDIT;
My god, I can't b...
Lizzy

I wholeheartedly agree with ForteAtrox.
I never liked her character, and after chapter 56 my dislike of her just deepened, that was an incredibly stupid thing of her to think.
I guess I'll have to wait and see if there is really something in chapter 57 to redeem her, since ...
Solve-it-yourself mystery manga

Did you ever read those books in which you read a detective investigating a case but YOU had to find out who the culprit was/what actually happened? They were good, sometimes frustrating, but good. The clues were presented very subtly and objectiely, there were no thought...

Oh my God you HAVE to read Vampire Girl it's absolutely what you're looking for.

This.
Vampire girl was actually the first tittle I thought of after reading you. So seconded. It's intense and pretty much amazing.
Am I Missing Something About the Japanese Grading System?
(27 posts, 3866 views) Posted: over 13 years ago by Karura Himura in Manga General
@McCasper:
I'm from Mexico smile
Well, I guess I can see how that makes little sense to you. Indeed, the failing average (continuing with the calculus example) for our group is about 30-40%, it's hard, and a lot of people fail, yes. Still, our university (and most, actually) h...
Am I Missing Something About the Japanese Grading System?

I don't know about the japanese, but we have a grading system like that, and yes, grades so low are not that uncommon.
Actually, a week ago we got the results for a calculus exam and my circle of friends got a 103, a 34, a 86 and one clear 0 (and he did answer most of it)....

It's been a while since I read it, but Kanojotachi no X-Day may fit.
Really long-haired male and really short-haired female
(11 posts, 4066 views) Posted: over 13 years ago by Karura Himura in I'm Looking For...
Yup, another thread with hair fixation.

Just as the tittle says, I'd like to read a manga with a really long-haired male protagonist and a really-short haired female protagonist, emphasis on really. Preferable by a hair if they're a couple, but just a hair. I'd rather roma...

Maybe Kanojotachi no X-Day?
characters that are aware that they're characters in a manga
(18 posts, 2546 views) Posted: over 13 years ago by Karura Himura in I'm Looking For...
Well, it's not a manga but a comic strip, but one over zero (http://www.undefined.net/1/0/) has exactly what you're looking for. The characters know from the beginning they are characters and even argue with the author. It's fun, it's brilliant and it's got bizarre plot t...

Fantastic plants

Dragonfiremule,
After a quick trip to wikipedia, I'm definitely adding those books in. They fit so well another one of my long-lasting craves.

WarriorKalia,
The Toriko description made me snort, so of course I'll read it. Thanks!

Avian3,
It doesn't look like plants are a major...
Fantastic plants
(13 posts, 3084 views) Posted: over 13 years ago by Karura Himura in I'm Looking For...
Yes, I like plants. I like them a lot. And I like them even more when they have a fantastical side to it, which is what I'm looking for right now.

Fantastical trees, bizarre fruits, sentient flowers--you know the drill. They can be part of the main setting or play an impor...
Uncommon/Old-school magic
(10 posts, 1627 views) Posted: over 13 years ago by Karura Himura in I'm Looking For...
I've already read (and re-read!) Majo and yes, it is amazing and beautiful.

I'm going to check out those two webcomics, since they seem interesting. I discovered Dorohedoro was on my whishlist already so I'm moving it to my read now list. I'm not too sure about Mx0 since s...
Horror manga w/ tension, survival, mystery, and some grossness
(13 posts, 2218 views) Posted: over 13 years ago by Karura Himura in I'm Looking For...
Island has it all.
The horror, the mistery, the tension and I don't remember any romance in it.
The lead female is a regular cute human, but the male lead tends toward powerfulness (of course, I'd never call him a victim, more like an anti-hero).
I'll warn you, the plot is...
Uncommon/Old-school magic
(10 posts, 1627 views) Posted: over 13 years ago by Karura Himura in I'm Looking For...
Remember Disney's Snow White? When the queen makes the poisoned apple and she uses things like a scream and night's darkness?
Well, I'd very much like magic like that. This is what I'm craving the most.

I'd also like magic uncommon in manga. The kind you rarely see. I like...

Yeah, I kind of goggled it after lots of people said it was original.

Thanks a lot to az_zu, anyway, for being so thoughtful as to provide me with a link :3

That's two people now who say it may be Pixiv's original.

Oh, boy, the disappointment.

I shall goggle now.
Thanks!

Anyway, edited.

Really? It works perfectly for me and it's not even a log-in site or something.
I'll upload it to photobucket, anyway, and edit the link.
