I read the entire series just for Nan Woo, seeing as how the male lead was complete garbage.
He has:
- Hit her
- Insulted her
- Manipulated her
- Threatened her
How is this romantic? How is he even sane? The backstory he has is just an excuse given by the author to justify Nan Woo falling for a psychopath. Their relationship is unhealthy. Imagine if they were married... how would he act towards her? I think Nan Woo's mother would end up calling a Domestic Abuse Hotline. (And her mom is probably the only person seeing things as they are: "Forget about him. He'll hurt you over and over again. He's not worth your precious time or feelings." -Volume 5, Chapter 5, Page 5)
The best moment, in my opinion, was when he broke up with her (aka: released her from the clutches of his abuse)
I knew someone like the male lead before. A magnetic person mixed with 99% insanity/darkness and 1% kindness. I mistook the small kindness for her having a "golden heart deep inside" and got viciously choked and abused for it.
Manga with these kinds of damaging and toxic relationships make it seem acceptable and perfectly normal for abuse/rape/etc to happen.
Rating of 3 for Nan Woo, her mom, and the art.
(Also would like to point out that he never shows remorse, not even ONCE, for how he treated her)

I liked this manhwa. i liked the art and the characters, especially nan woo. However it started to fall (volume4-5ish?)when they went into the whole melodramatic storyline about seung-ha and his mom/family. that's where it got cliche depressing and draggy.. its not a good thing when you're not really motivated to read the last volume..the ending also felt very rushed with the whole typical, 'i'm going to study abroad' thing. It simply failed to satisfy me. Overall the manhwa was decent, but i think it had a lot more potential to be better. (it could have been one of my favourites!)

I'm giving this manga a 7. It did manage to entertain me after all and kept me interested enough to want to read the last volume (despite the fact that I really did have to convince myself that reading vol. 6 is worth it.) The problem I had with this shoujo is probably the girl. I don't know if its just my preference, but I really can't just stand the girl in the latter volumes. Yep, she was cool and amusingly airheaded the first 2 volumes, but afterwards I just found her character constantly getting on my nerves. It seems to me that as the story progressed, she transformed into Miaka Yuuki (from Yuu Watase's FY anime/manga series) who by the way tops my Most-Hated-Female-Heroine-from-a-Manga/Anime. I mean I think she really was supposed to be a strong female lead but that was not really consistently portrayed because as their relationship progressed, she grew more needy and dependent on Seung Ha.
Contrary to one of the comments here, I found myself liking Jae Hee and Hyun Ho's relationship more. Because we the readers really are shown a view of how two men (who both starts out as heterosexuals) can actually find themselves falling in love with each other. And unlike in most Yaoi series where the romantic aspect of the relationship is foregone for the physical, (taking the easy way out) we really see the changes/growth of both characters, how they eventually realize it and afterwards settle the feelings they have for each other. (I also like that this drama did not venture into being a yaoi (e.g. Hyun Ho did not fall into the nuna's insinuation/suggestion) because then I may have afterwards doubted the 'genuine-ness' of their feelings for each other. I am not a shounen-ai/yaoi reader and truth be told, this is the first series where I actually rooted for the 2 men to be together so that must actually mean a lot in terms of how the author set up how the relationship would be like. Another redeeming factor I found is Nan-Woo's mother, because she is such a wonderful character. I really like her, she is the strong woman-character I was looking for in this series. Despite the fact that she's a loud and somewhat kooky character, she's the most sensible character in the whole of series. Next would be Hyun Ho. Overall, this is a pretty cliched storyline, and I would have stopped reading at Volume 2 if not for the amusing and lovable side characters and the great art.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
An example, she thoughtlessly gets into a lot of strange and dangerous predicaments in the story (jumps over high walls, quarrels with her teachers and her male classmates which might show that to a certain extent she does not easily get scared or frightened. But she gets frightened almost immediately after a strike of lightning and calls up the main lead hysterically to come to her house in the middle of the storm!! I just didn't find that scene all too believable or amusing.

What the hell is wrong with you people? No seriously, is this the type of relationship women find acceptable? The man is abusive, and he forces the woman to depend on him by torturing her and alienating her from others. This... this isn't romance, its Stockholm syndrome!
I don't know, christ, is emotional abuse is what women really want from a relationship? Seriously?

I had my hopes brought up cause after reading a great manhwa (H2O) someone in the reviews had said that it's inferior to this Manhwa and the ratings were also high so I started reading this. But it barely made me feel anything. The art is alright and I liked the start of Jae and Hyun Ho's relationship but I don't know about the rest. The plot is a drag to read... I love Nan-Woo, Jae, Hyun Ho and the mum's character but I can't say much for the rest....It's also weird how the other guy who supposedly like Nanwoo and was going to compete for her just suddenly dropped out of the picture...?I actually wanted to cheer him on more than Seung-Ha... The stories I think are really good are the ones that bring out my emotions, and this just didn't do that for me...

I really like the main chara, nan-woo is sooo funny. She's not annoying, not cliche, a rare kind main chara in shoujo manga. fufufu~
I think seung-ha is not cool, he's twisted =_________=; the title really doesnt suit at all.
but it's a good manhwa, really like it >.<

Wahhh.. I'm scared of Seung-ha. To my experience couples fighting in manga falls on either extremes: one person in the couple is being abused or they both can fight and it's seen as comical. In this one, it kinda falls in the middle, leaning slightly towards scary abuse. The power balance is clearly on Seung-ha's side yet Nanwoo's not a total weakling, I'm interested to see how it's gonna play out (+ Nanwoo is freakin' hilarious).
LOVE ITTTT :D
