I would check everyday for the release of a new chapter.

It made me want to wake up and go out and socialize and not sleep in until 11am. It was the one light of my world, and now it is gone. Sadistic Beauty had had a significant influence on my life, and now it's gone.

In better terms, it is discontinued. (Well, it's pretty obvious why... If Lezhin would f*king pay their workers properly, this wouldn't have happened)

So... onto the review.
Art: I think SB was the manga that helped me improve my art style the most. Along with Kuroshitsuji, SB's art style is one of my personal favourites. It would always study it with every chapter and try to embed it into my own art style. Also, SB is a female gaze manhua, so SEXY BOIIS EVERYWHERE!!!!! *sings ITS RAINING MEN* 10/10

Story: Okay, so it can be kinda slow but I do LOVE it being about a D!FMC x s!MMC. Well written woman doms are truly hard to find in manga. Most of them are just "waifu" materials FOR THE F*CKING MEN. 8/10

Character:

- Doona, the main character - is dominant, and does not give a f*ck about what others think of her. THAT (if any mangakas are reading my review) is a female lead I can actually relate with.

- Haesol, the MMC - is innocent, sweet and subby. THAT IS HOW I WANT MY MEN TO BE WRITTEN, MANGAKAS!!! He challenges the male gender roles, and that is what I really love and respect about this character. Also, he is mah husbandooooeee.

- Byun, the other male- is arrogant and sexist. Okay. Let's admit it. I hated him at first glance, and was planning on hating him forever, but he is masochistic as f*ck. So I love-hate him now. (BUT HE SHALL NEVER SURPASS MY HUSBANDO, HAESOLLLL)

Those are the 3 mains. For character, I'd give a 10/10.

Views and Values: This manhwa is truly a non-problematic manhwa that I would recommend to anyone. Also, the woman is not a waifu character for the men. Doona is important, developed and #relatable af. Nuff said. 10/10

I don't think I'll ever find a piece like this. SB is a rare gem that belongs in the same tier as Revolutionary Girl Utena. Even if I do find a femdom manga, it will never cater to women. It will always be pantyshots, foot close up, breast close up.... etc. No femdom manga will ever have closeups of men (minus SB, of course). Sadistic Beauty did not deserve to be discontinued.

I usually like reading BDSM and typically don't mind toxic/dub-con/non-con elements... but this left a feeling of disgust that I couldn't shake. And I've read Gengoroh Tagame, for the love of god.

First off, the author's notes indicate that this story is essentially a revenge fantasy based on herself and a guy who hurt her deeply (likely an ex). But you don't need to read them to be able to tell that the MC is an author-insert Mary Sue. She is supposedly prodigiously talented, winds up being loved by all she meets, and receives no repercussion for any of her flaws or mistakes. The story not only justifies rape and abuse, but celebrates the MC's sexual crimes as female empowerment while vilifying her ex and painting his sexual assault as deserved. As you can imagine, the ex is characterized to be as unlikable as possible. Through its terrible (to the point of being almost humourous) depiction of the ex's the narrative ultimately ridicules and trivializes the traumatic aftermath that real assault survivors deal with.

The sex scenes were hot, but not worth dealing with the shitshow of a story. If it was PWP or if the author showed even a modicum of self-awareness, I'd say go for it... but this sincerely presents a serial rapist as a sympathetic victim and blames all her crimes on her actual victim. The fact that this story is based on real people who the author had a vendetta against makes it so much more disturbing.

Read Side Story A for a cute lesbian love story. Read Side Story B for abusive gay porn that treats itself as such (so far). The main story is the worst of both worlds.

I'm not even a fan of dom girls or M guys, but the MC is so cool so I kept on reading. Like a reviewer said, this manga is a true rare gem where a dom girl is catered for girls, yay, not just a waifu material type. It's just too bad that it's getting discontinued (shame on you Lezhin).

Edit: Not discontinued, yay. Yes I'm also aware that this not real BDSM, but I hope people that do read this are not stupid and have the common sense to understand that it isn't. This is fiction and let people enjoy things.

Lezhin made sure they wont be doing anything for 3 years. Those authors dont derserve this. We can only get lucky if the authors do want to continue their works esp this one since Ive been hooked since Day 1. It would be a shame to end the chapter that way.

As other users have pointed out, this story has very little to do with BDSM. That I can't remember a single safeword being used in this series should tell you everything you need to know on that topic - But that's fine. Rape fantasies are undeniably popular, fiction doesn't need to be wholesome and representative like that, especially if it's not claiming to be. It's smut with a story and the important question is: "Is it hot?" Yes it is.

Art is fantastic, there's plenty of equal-opportunity eye candy for both sides of the isle. There's plenty of kink to go around and there's place for the erotic and the sensual as well. Do note that the tags about Abuse/Rape/NTR aren't just for show. It gets bad violent at times.

But it's also well written. There's a strong undercurrent of a romance drama in this mess. The characters are all well fleshed out, flawed and try to change and affect each other. If you enjoy the smut you might find yourself invested into the story as well, which is usually all I'm looking for with these long-form pornographic works.

This comic is far better paced, better drawn, and sexier than most of the other "porn" manwha out there. Don't let the negative reviews dissuade you.

The artwork was a solid 7 for me it was beautiful but not polished or detailed

The rating of 2 is for the storyline. I hardly ever give a rating this low because I can only imagine how much work goes into publishing a piece online. Having said that this story goes out of its way to normalize non-consensual sexual and abusive behaviors. I’m not gonna go into every single example because the entire storyline is laced with abuse masked as BDSM.

The ultimate slap in the face was the ending… Spoiler ahead.

At the very end the FL (which at the same time is the main antagonist of the story) never acknowledges that she is an abuser or that there is a need for her to change. The so-called character growth the author is focused on is her self-esteem as a writer >>> at the very end she gets to see her books published under her name and a no longer her pen name…

But keep in mind that the foundation for her newly grown “strong self-esteem” is the abuse she is continually doling out throughout the story. I’m not here to trash the story for being having BDSM or abuse because I’ve read other stories that have have these elements as part of the storyline… What I have an issue with is the author:

-hiding the abuse behind the mask of BDSM (this is not BDSM) and saying that makes it ok
-having abuse normalized in the story through to the very end

This is a conflicting webtoon since it features a sadistic female MC who has an extreme personality and LI who are the total opposite. Oddly enough it suffers a lot from the same problems if you reversed gender roles like controlling personalities and terrible scenarios. I liked the intro where we find out that the MC was a former author who decided to return to college later and less about why she can't maintain relationships. I mean, there's a 100 different reasons the writers could have gone with the plot but since it's discontinued we'll never know.

The story is basically about a bitchy woman who rapes and violates two men. Not just in sexual way. Some scenes get gory and brutal. And that's basically the whole schtick of this manhwa. The fl is nowhere near likeable in the very beginning and she gets more intolerable as the story goes on. Most characters aside from her are also pretty one dimensional. One guy likes being dominated. The other guy gets violated multiple times and always have that snot dripping crying face. And the next guy is in love with torturing the other dude. To makes things worse, the author is planning to make a side story out of those two men. IN WHAT WAY CAN THAT BE A LOVE STORY? The only good thing I can say with this manhwa is the artwork is nice. That's about it. The author clearly lacks proper storytelling.

If you're into BL with obsessive, toxic, abusive and sadistic tops that go after a bottom because they love and/or want to make them suffer then here's the series for you. Huge warnings for blood, vomit, confinement, hitting etcetera. I think No Reason is still worse but this also is insanely toxic.

I would love to see a normal (but heavy on the smut) BL webtoon from this author that's not a toxic story! Their art is so fucking good.
