This manga was one of the best that I have read in awhile. It deffinantly was my type though. For some people it might not be that great, but I loved it! It really does have some valubale thing's that alot of people deal with. I would recommend it to anyone =D!

It was the first ever manga that I had read (ages ago now) and I still want to cry in parts when I reread it. lovelyyaoi, you should NOT just read the first volume and die away. The story just grows on you so much! So, Tohru is an optimist, lacking some personality... so what? Aren't there many other shoujo characters like that? Plus, she just had a really sweet bringing up I suppose... Anyway this manga overall is just very nice! Not a awesome drawing style, but I suppose the plot makes up for it. The characters are well-developed! And it still amazes me that from a simple little comedy, it turns into something so emotional... it really was great! So I recommend this to anyone... try it and see if it's your style!

Although i have seen better artwork in other manga's its not all that bad, what really hooked me in was the plot and the character development, their isn't a single character that is one dimensional. This story really balances fantasy with reality and touches on so many other things than romance (although romance does play a big part. This manga was the first manga that i read and was actually really happy with the ending. In reguards to the anime it just doesn't do the manga justice, they don't introduce enough characters and the whole story is rushed.

It's a good manga... for beginners. the plot hardly attracts your interest and i got so confused after like the 5th volume that i ditched it... the anime was pretty plain too..
Ok why do people like this manga?

No offense to those who like Tohru but she barely has any personality to her. The story is pretty boring in the anime and the manga. I only read the first volume and I didn't get hooked on it at all! I want those minutes of my life back

When a Manga is your first its alot different and special to the other ones you read. It's quite amazing how this turned out. The Art is simply beautiful. Everyone think that Love Triangle's are quite unique which is true but you have to be careful what will fit and make a good ending. Natsuki Takaya does that. The Characters are so deep and Takaya puts a lot of detail in the characters she makes all of them equal and special but what I like the most is how not all of the Zodiac Members have trouble with their parents she tries really hard to not make everything too obvious. This one id definitely something you will remember when you have read it!

Fruits basket was the first manga series I ever read. After that I couldn't get enough. Because of how great that series was I am always reading a manga.
