There's comment before me that sounds hateful, but that's actually the fact? I honestly Don't understand why people love this? Heck I love retro mangas but I do avoid stupid ones.
I was reconsidering to read it again, coz there's must be something wrong with me, i mean, look at those hella chapters! But just a couple chapter hurts my head LITERALLY.

Sigh... Idk man, this manga must be a joke to detective genres, yet I'm not even laughing.

This is one of those series that undergoes a drastic genre shift in the middle, going from an episodic mystery gag series to a serial near-apocalyptic murder fighting series. (Apparently PZcolo didn't make it that far). A shame the anime stopped right in themiddle during the transition.

& don't let the cover fool you into thinking these two are love interests.

Wow I can't believe all the 10s there. Chars are not particularly good, Neuro is an imbecile and bully, Yako is not really a believable character, too calm, doesn't mind being pushed and bullied, accepts Nero's inhumanity from the get go, seams to care sh*t about her fathers death, gets the chance to get rid of Neuro and doesn't take it, gets into certainly lethal situations because... she wants to avoid a posible lethal reaction form Neuro? huh? that makes sense? and so on, Godai? meh and Akane is basically a comedy relief char. Story is bad, what's the fun in a mystery plot where the mysteries are solved by unexplainable demon tools? huh? really it just takes all the "use logic, find the puzzle and out-think the perpetrator" out of the hole thing, he just "smells" the cases and uses one of his apparently infinite tools to solve it... it all feels simply shallow; not to mention the mysteries themselves are quite dumb, hardly a "mystery" since most of the times and over and over again people just confess to the crime after a "plausible" explanation that Neuro gives... It's so childish that the author had to invent humans with super powers to make it a little more interesting... huh?. Last, the comedy, mainly Neuro beating the crap of our female MC over and over, not my thing at all.
Oh, forgot the art-style, it's quite poor and villains are portrayed in ridiculous ways with exaggerated expressions and faces and the drawing quality itself is not very good.
I'm 60 something chapters in and I've pretty much given up, I was waiting for it to get go, for the chars to develop and get interesting given all the great reviews but 60+ chapters should have been plenty to get started and still nothing, many great mangas manage to present an interesting and complex story in 60ch, not even close here. Dropped for now.

I love how the demon keeps abusing our poor main character.... i wouldn't have survived if I were in her shoes ha ha ha. Anyhow, I appreciate the amount of work that went into this manga---especially the dialogue between Neuro and the main girl.
There is suspense, but most of the chapters require 0 brain power to dissect...Although the detective parts of the story were watered down thanks to the usage of demonic powers, the relationship each character have with one another is what really kept me reading.

I loved this manga till vol. 12, from a detective conan style manga it turned into dragon ball i'm just kidding but i didn't like it so much after the 12° vol. i liked more the mysteries and not the battle, still it was amazing till the end. I tought the manga would finish with the solving of akane's mystery but the mangaka probably forgot about this ahaha

I love this series; at first, I didn't really like the art, but it grew on me. The premise of the story is unique, and it's funny, intriguing and just so interesting. The characters develop well (Neuro is amazing), and I actually wish there was more to read. No matter how many other mangas I read, I can still remember this one vividly, and I'm actually planning on rereading it (I rarely do that, haha).

I have already read more then 100 manga by the time I got to this. The only difference from then and now is that I can give people an immediate answer to the question "what is your favorite manga?". The answer Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro.

This is a great series, its wonderfully unique and completely unpredictable, you think you know where its going? Think again!
I'd reccimend reading this if you don't mind blood etc. Otherwise its funny, clever, strange and pretty creepy\freakily awesome!
Don't let the art chase you away, it really grows on you and fits the story. The characters are great and the mysteries are pretty...intereesting....but the criminals are crazy in a super awesome way!
The only thing I don't like is the fact that it ended, and although the ending is great, it just leaves you wanting more...
So yep, definately a must read, or at least a must try C=

I enjoyed reading this manga. The main characters were well developed and I was able to empathize with them.



There were enough twists and surprises to keep the story interesting. There were some sad yet delicate moments that really touched me. I highly recommend this manga to mystery buffs or anyone who enjoys detective stories.
