this manga is bad. I don't know maybe it's because I am a guy but I found it was boring, had a bad plot and characters. Deserves a 0.

This manga series is just AWESOME! There's so many exceptional advices in the manga it's just unbelievable.I love this story so much and i just can't believe how unique everything is. I definitely enjoyed Fruits Basket and if you're a shoujo fan, you'll probably love it too!
I love the scenes where the girls in book 7 [edit by mod, don't spoil please].
I have the anime. One of the rare shoujo that guys will like. Really caught me by surprise. Haven't read the manga though. I actually dislike a lot of shoujo series but this one had a superb storyline and was definitely funny.

I read only 7 volumes, so I can't speak for the whole story, but while the story seemed interesting at the beginning, it quickly became boring. Tohru is dumb and her happy-go-lucky and everyone-likes-her portrayal makes her annoying. After the first few volumes the story line disappeared and it just became a page after page of nothing, so that I had to force myself to continue reading. After vol. 7 I gave up. Maybe I had too high expectations for this series, but I really can't recommend it, I've read better series.

Loved it. This manga made me go through loads of emotions. The characters are not perfect, which I find sometimes annoying. The art wasn't great at the beginning but improves and makes the manga a better read.
I agree with a lot of comments, so i won't repeat everything execpt: READ IT, you're in for hours of good entertainment!!

This manga is most likely my most favorite shoujo of all time. I first started this series buy just unsincerely buying the first volume. The book store had a buy 2 get 1 free sale and I had to choose a free book, I hadn't read manga before, since the manga I was buying that day was my first manga ever. So I just picked up the manga I saw my friend reading at school. I really didn't think I was going to like it. But I soon became obsessed with it. I immediately went back to the store and bought all the volumes they had availiable, which at the time was up to vol. 5 or so. Ever since then I bought the next volume whenever it came out. Sadly after reaching vol. 15 of my collection, I sold it, all 15 vol., which I regret to this day. It was only 5 days ago that I went on a mad search to find the cheapest place to buy the whole series back. two days ago I purchased vol. 1-18 and am anxiously awaiting their arrival. Just goes to show you how obsessed with it I am again. I still need to get vol. 19-23
In short, Furuba was the second manga I've ever read, my first being "Crescent Moon". I love this manga and you should too. The length of the manga makes it even better. And I like how it has a lot of side character stories and couples. It just makes me love it even more. Right now I'm currently interested in Mine's and Ayame's relationship, I only wish that the author wrote more about them.

the story has a good premise but tohru just annoyed the hell out of me. how can anyone really be that happy and smiley all the time? i only read it because of rin and hatsuharu, she really did a lot of characterization with them. tohru doesnt really grow up or change throughout the series, and the art is mediocre at best.i hate how their eyes look like rectangles. i give it a 4 for the plot, which made me laugh sometimes.
Epic.

This series made me cry so much. I cryed because i was laughing so hard, it was depressing, and because of the romance. If you want a great story with comedy, romance, and with a twist of mystery and great drama, then Fruits Basket is for you. I take that back, I recommend Fruits basket for anyone who wants an awesome manga. Fruots Basket is AMAZING! Definitely one of the best out there, if it's not the best.
