So far so good, however.....

Rating: 8.0  / 10.0
Tentative rating of 8.

This will change depending on how the story progresses (as of Volume 2 Prologue).

The relationship between the protagonist and the queen is very heartwarming and fun to read. For those of you that may worry about the protagonist being "useless", he seems to be working hard to learn the ways of the new world and cannot be written off just yet. My hope is that the protagonist will progress past the "sponger" stage and into someone the queen and country rely on, but so far it can only be said that he has potential.

It's like a post war Maoyuu Maou Yuusha with more focus in the couple instead of the resolving the conflict. So if you liked MMY, give it a shot!

Ideal Sponger Life

It's a peaceful break from the usual chuu2 reincarnation/revive-change-the-world trend found in too many syosetsu webnovels recently.

Do you expect a salary man working for a black company to change the world with little money he had? This is a normal, rational man trying to live in an absurd setting normally and rationally while caring for his beloved wife. Think of this as a slice of life seinen in a different world setting. Why looking for action when the genre doesn't include it? So far there's only (spoiler) a small monster subjugation quest.

Spoiler (not so much) alert: There would be some kind of harem, but the MC did not wish for it and it was brought upon by the Queen herself.

tl;dr: This is a slice of life webnovel of a sponger living in another world, with a character-driven story and plot. Stop having expectations of actions and chuu2 shenanigans.

Tag Smart Male Lead WTF?

The tag Smart Male Lead is a joke right? because the MC in this novel is almost retarded.
He have a golden opportunity to change the world where he is going and the only thing he can think is computer/air con/dvdplayer.

You don't need a super mecha to change a world, remember, the world where he is going have a medieval age setting, if he was a little smart, change that world is easy whit knowledge, he can buy book to create the things he need and help the world evolve, the famous books "make yourself..." or "how to...".
He buy a generator, so he had some money to buy a lot of books.

Pleasently different take on "summoned to a different world" novels

(Currently finished reading v01c04)

The best novel I read in a while. I like how it is refreshingly different from your usual "summoned to different world" type of story. For once it isn't about a bunch of high schoolers who turn into op heroes and save the world, but about a salesman in his mid-twenties whose only job is to marry the queen and live a leisurely life.

So far there isn't any action (no fighting to be more specific wink ) or greater evil to defeat. That is why the plot progress may seem a bit slow sometimes. The focus of the story so far is partly on the relationship between the MC and the queen and partly on the differences in technology and culture of the two worlds.

Something i really appreciate is that for once both MC and the heroine seem to have a brain. While they don't always act all that smart they mostly display the ability to think things through.

So far the MC hasn't really influenced the politics or technological advancement in this new world. Something that i hope will change in the future (although the title of the novel has me kind of worried on this point). And it is likely that in later volumes it will go down the harem route.

As for the translation there seems to be put quite a lot of effort to deliver high quality.

As long as the protagonist starts to get involved more in stuff this novel will easily obtain a place among my favorites
