After graduating from high school, best friends Tachibana and Otani decided to move-in together as more-than-friends. Although their feelings are very real, the secret nature of their relationship, and the words that have gone unsaid between them, leave room for doubt. When a chance encounter reintroduces the pair to Yuki, a former classmate, Otani becomes suspicious of Tachibana's close friendship with her. i'd read anything by this author. anyhow, just wanted to let folks know that there's a j-drama based on this with the same name. haven't watched the whole thing yet, but scanned thru to the kissing parts *grins*
The first time I read Words of Devotion vol 1, I thought it was an okay story, but when I reread it a few months later, I found myself really moved. At first read, I didn't like Otani much, but when I read it a second time, I realized that he is just insecure and loves Tachibana so much that he can't help but be jealous and worried about Yuki-chan, Tachibana's high school friend. Volume 2 just came out, and so I went back and reread volume 1 again and still find them quite touching. One of my favorite parts is in chapter 4 when they have they have a fight. Volume 2 goes back to high school when they first became friends and then fell in love. It is told from Otani's point of view, and it gives a lot of insight into his character. There's also a side story about Shogo and Alfred which is a continuation of their side story in the first volume. I highly recommend this series.

I found the characters and stories very real and appealing.
