This is really an interesting subject for a manga and it's quite a good read. The author does a fine job in portraying them as "people" or "individuals" who're struggling to survive in a society which prizes group mentality and conformity over individualism and traits which cause you to stand out. Their issues and other problems are fleshed out rather thoroughly and you really get to feel for them.

The downside, though, is that the entire approach to the story is a bit too simplistic, so it gets fairly forumulaic and preachy at times. And the characters are often fairly identical. Finally, my main gripe is that the endings to the various situations are all too happy, thus detracting a little from the realism.

Still, this is worth reading if you're open-minded enough to accept the subject at hand.

This manga, while different, really isn't going to be all that good after you've already got it's message. The first volume may be interesting, but after that, it's just the same things over and over again. You really can't relate to this unless you're an IS yourself. It's all about IS issues, nothing else. Personally, I liked that it was different, but after a while, I felt as if I was doing the author a favor by reading this manga - all it really did was preach about accepting IS's and it didn't get any more enjoyable to read.

It's intresting, i like intresting stories, it's a change in the usual manga we read alot so i'll give it 10, I hope they make more intresting mangas, like say a long shoujo manga with an IS main character, or a shonen one.

Volume one consists of two unrelated stories about IS, but from volume two and on, the story focuses on one main character, Hoshino Haru. However, though the story is about Haru, many minor characters take turns with narrating their own stories, adding more depth to them and their issues.

Now, maybe I'm just a lame sap, but this was, surprisingly, a bit of a tearjerker for me. It's not like it's uber sad and tragic, it's more like I'm moved by the way the characters change and understand each other.

What else? It gets a little preachy and repetitive sometimes, but try to muddle onwards. This is a surprisingly good character-driven series. I'm disappointed JanimeS decided not to continue with it.

freaky................Scary.............interesting...........however this is a fictional manga. Some parts of the manga must be questioned. As I feel they portray inadequately and inaccurately of what people with IS really are.

I don't understand why people like this manga so much......it's kind of creepy.......
One in every 2000 people is IS? that is a fact to be questioned.

And by the way, do not truth Wiki completely. Wiki's data can be changed by any registered user. For more info on IS, go to websites that end with .org .gov .edu

Of course, this manga is still freakish to read.

I noticed this manga when I bought Kiss magazine. The story is interesting deals with realistic problem but rarely appear in people concern. Truthfully I didn't know about IS problem until I saw that manga. It did catch my interest but too bad the Japanese version doesn't have furigana so I don't dare to buy it since I won't be able to understand.

I don't know if it was a constant scanlation mistake or the author's mistake, but they didn't even seem to understand the difference between gender identity and sex. "Intersex people are born genderless"? WROOONG. Agender, genderfluid, gender nonconforming, gender neutral, non-binary, etc, are all gender identities. They mean to say born being of neither female or male sex. Jeez. Heck, the first girl exhibits mostly female traits and express desire to be female. Thus, her gender is female (if that's how she feels). Also, the "I don't want to trick him" was irritating if this were written by a cis person.

h-manga is more progressive to be honest. Just read some futanari on male hentai instead of this and save yourself the time.

Just a bunch of depressing stories about people with shitty self-esteem because of their genitals. I found it hilarious that the solution to the "Oh no! I'm an intersex!" conundrum was to become a lecturer on intersex about 50% of the time.
