The second manga I read and my second favorite. Maybe there's something in that....Anyway, this is the best of all harem mangas I've read. This manga is one that actually causes me to think about life in general every time I read it (I start to wonder what I will do as a career.) And I've re-read it 4 times. The characters are complex, each with their own specific background (excluding Mitsune though; in the end she does not play as big a role.) I highly recommend this manga to those of you with interests in comedy or bright mangas. The occasional fanservice is a penchant that Akamatsu has, and so do his mangas contain some of it. However, it has very little in comparisen with other mangas. If you don't like the occasional ecchiness, try to skip over the pictures and look only at the text bubbles. And for those of you that don't like the "violence," well, you're not getting the joke. ONce again, I highly recommend this manga.

You know i've read alot of series, but I really fell in love with the characters in this one. This was my first complete series I bought in book version. Overall one of the best Harem comedies i've read and the series length is about perfect and the ending was great, unlike some other series that seem to end too abruptly or do not properly tie things up.

This manga by far is the best of this genre. I read Ichigo 100% first, which is suppose to be as good or better then love hina, srry to those who think so in my opinion love hina blows it away. ( for those who haven't read ichigo 100% you should go and read its good bigrazz) Its true love hina is full of the main character getting un real beat downs from all of the diffrenet girls but hey to me thats funny shit, and of course its mostly ecchi things that happen to him and get him his beat downs. Well if you put that aside the whole story line was good, the growing up aspect did not compare to Ichigo, the character depth was a bit shallow but it made up for it in comedy. The ending was good not as dramatic as ichigo but hey this is suppose to be a romantic comedy what do expect. All in all it was a great, deffenetly what other manga of the genre need to strive for i give it 9.4

First Manga

This was Probably my first manga, that I've personally ever read. Anime, not so much. The manga itself is much better than the anime, and the romance always has it's ups and downs. Akamatsu's art is quite amazing, so I would suggest to read his newer series, Mahou Sensei Negima. I've read Love Hina at least three times through.

Personally I rate it 10/10, of course, this is my thoughts on the genres and Akamatsu's creative storyline. The art is definetely awesome, 10/10. Storyline, is similar to most harems, but this one really stood out, to the ones I've read so far, it is potentially moving, so I give it 10/10. The ending, of course, is also quite important. I read to the end, and being the first manga I read, I was mentally upset the series was finished. Though the ending wasn't great, which I will only give a 9/10, it isn't bad, as alot of series don't finish with a proper ending, or a nice finale either. Overall I think Love Hina, DESERVES 10/10.

The quintessential harem manga

I'm not a huge fan of the harem genre since they're mostly all the same, but Love Hina was the first manga I ever read to completion, and I loved it.

This is the manga that really jump-started Ken Akamatsu's career, and for good reason - it's literally one of the defining works of the harem genre. Although it initially presents the usual stereotypical characters such as the useless male protagonist, the shy loli and the tsundere hot-blooded girl, over the course of the series Akamatsu develops each and every one of them into deep, complex characters with interesting personalities and backgrounds, which is what got me hooked.

The art style is high quality, typical of Akamatsu's work, and improves dramatically over time like that of any good artist. Although the story may seem typical at first LH provides its own little twist by initally making all the girls hate the protagonist, whereas the typical harem manga has them all over him from the start.

The only real criticism I have for this manga is that the whole "close but no cigar" plot device of the Keitaro-Naru relationship got really old, especially towards the end where it seemed completely unnecessary given that they were an actual couple by then. It's enough to drop my rating of this series by a half point, but otherwise this series is a must-read classic.

I just can't get into a romantic mood when she keeps beating him up for no reason. If you're into pain, you'll like this manga, for the rest of us, steer clear.

Sure, it may have been repetitive but it's hard for me to describe. Read it about a few years ago (Took forever to find). There was definitely a plot (start and end), and I just wanted to keep reading. Even after the ending. It was "Nice". Definitely something worth reading at least once. Regardless if it appears like every other general romance harem manga.

I LOOOOVE THIS SERIES!!! Love Hina has easily become my second/third favorite series of all time (I say second/third because this series goes against One Piece for the tittle of my second favorite). I have read this entire series, and now I'm aspiring to buy it. This manga is so unique because, as opposed to other harems, none of the girls like Keitaro at first. This leads to many hilarious arguments and misunderstandings, usually ending in a super Naru Punch right to Keitaro's face biggrin Akamatsu draws very beautiful women in Love Hina (as well as his other works, such as A.I.Love You and Negima!). Not one of the Hina girls are bad looking, in fact they are all incredibly beautiful and cute. All of the characters are very easy to like, even Motoko, and my favorite of the Hina girls is Naru, although my favorite character overall is Keitaro, that perv! >biggrin If you haven't read this series yet, and you're looking for a new manga to read, then you should definitely give Love Hina a chance. I promise you won't regret it! smile

This was the first Harem I've read and I sure have a good time reading it. The story was enjoying and the art gets better and better.
The end was VERY VERY wierd now that i think about it. What were they trying to do at the beach and at the hotel that nearly cost there relationship to end......XXXXXXX
