From Psycho Pandas:
"I have something I don't want to lose. So much so that these terrible feelings have grown."
A pianist who attempted suicide 3 times, Juri, is taken to help her aunt at a prison where murderers who killed indiscriminately are sentenced to death. There, she meets a man named Yuu who took the lives of 3 people. A mother's antagonism--a brother's death. I think Mizu-sensei has actually improvised on the original work. I haven't read the original novel, but the movie had a storyline quite a bit different from this manga, though based on the same theme. In my opinion this improvisation has made the storyline much much better and realistic. A salute to both Mizu-sensei and Ji-young-sensei for developing such an amazing story.

I love this story.
The characters have nice development and it's one of the very few tragedies to actually bring me to tears. To add on to this, I've actually reread it and feel the same emotions each time.
I highly recommend it.

So starkly, sadly and desperately beautiful! Both the story line & the art are captivating. It really makes me think how we should appreciate all our lives again despite all its imperfections. I would recommend anyone who had gone through bouts of depressions in their lives to read this and hopefully understand that when you can at least get by one day at a time and start to give without expecting anything back in return, things will eventually start to look up.

I've just finished reading this and I have to say it was amazing! I really love Sahara Mizu's art and this time was no exception but the story itself and its development really touched me. So much that I couldn't stop crying in the last chapter.
I really recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

Quote: "I'm worried I'm going to want to keep living.
As expected, when the manga gets its plot from a real book, the story is bound to be breathless. Along with neat, modern art, I just couldn't get this manga out of my head. I was beautifully written, smooth plot and a convincing tragic back story. Wow.

There's no other word that comes to mind but beautiful, maybe amazing also describes it. It's a wonderful story, realistic and very well developed, you can empathize with the characters. I'm still trying to compose myself after reading it, I was almost bawling. I'm so glad I read it, I recomend it, it will make you feel glad you are alive.

That was a truly beautiful work of art. Both the story and the characters felt real, and in the end it was a bitter sweet feeling. Thats the first time I've cried from a manga in a very very long time.

This is the BEST manga I have ever read. The art is good, unlike the cover(which turned me off initially from reading this). The story started off slow, and in a depressing manner, but as it progressed, everything turned better and soon, you would be cheering for the main character and hoping that the worst would not come for Yuu, although you knew it would anyway. Then, the crying would start and the ending was splendid in every way. I'm really glad that Juri forgave her mother in the end, and how her mother showed the tiniest bit of emotion when Juri forgave her, showing how the mother actually cared for Juri and is why she was not such a bad person after all. And Juri could finally find a will to live life to the fullest despite everything she had gone through.

This manga, based on a novel, with a small difference, it won't let you feel warm in the end...it won't let you make a wide smile due to a happy ending, it won't make you understand and be slightly wiser than you were before reading it, it won't make you feel bad you're here, but it will make you look up to the window and search for that feeble snow, falling gently, (it will make you silently listen to that steady rain, it will make you remember the thistle)...it will make you remember that life and love should never be understated, never!
