Well, this is by far my favorite manga.... I say this simply because I have read many harem series just in hopes of becoming nearly as good as this is.... I do tend to stick to romance though, and only I"s, Suzuka, Kare Kano, and Lovely Complex have come close for me.... This series managed to juggle all of my emotions thoroughly~! I laughed more than any other comedy, and cried more than any other romance.... Hell, I even felt small fits of rage at certain characters at some points.... This series will always keep you on the edge of your seat somehow....

Personal comment: Read several volumes. I loved it, others hated it. Simply stated, it achieved what it was going for, and that just so happened to be what I was looking for in a manga.

On a side note, he does NOT in any way, shape, or form, get "a gaggle of girls all at once, and getting new ones at the drop of the hat)". If that's what you saw in this manga, you've obviously being skipping chapters or ignorantly avoiding reading/mis comprehending dialog.

I loved it, you should give it a try and see for yourself.

edit: Just read it again, and would like to point out that the main thing that I love is that every single chapter I laugh or smile at least twice. However, I'm very biased - since the ending only made me ecstatic with joy because I read Negima before reading Love Hina, and enjoyed Asuna as a character there (who shared oh-so-many resemblances to Naru)

I picked this up at the library a few years ago thinking it looked cool, and it was popular but it was rather boring. If you're a guy who likes harem manga then maybe its your thing but for the ladies don't bother. bigrazz

Way over rated. I used to tout it as uber awesome, that is only because my intro to anime was (5+ years ago) : Pokemon (I hated) > DBZ (I liked) > Love Hina > Tenchi Muyo...

But I recently reread, it is mediocre at best. Stupid characters, stupid plot, there are plenty of much better harem mangas, and that is if you are even a harem manga fanatic (aka, willing to accept an uber looser who never had a GF suddenly getting a gaggle of girls all at once, and getting new ones at the drop of the hat)

But I am not rating this low because it is harem, I love harems, this one is just a manga that is mediocre at best.

too long and repetitive

The humor is the main selling point of this manga. The "fulfilling your dream" story is nice but it's a side note. The main focus is the everyday antics of the characters. As everyone else pointed out, the humor in this manga is far too repetitive. It's mostly Kentaro accidentally getting into bad situations and a girl (mostly Naru) beating him up over it. There's also a lot of outrageous humorous situations.

I watched the anime and this is one of the few series where the anime does a better job than the manga. The repetitive humor is much easier to view than to read through. Also, the manga is much more serious than the anime in that it portrays the events more realistically (like the train incident where Naru and Kentaro bump into each other), which is pointless because none of the relationships or characters change until the last few chapters.

This is a Manga that one may want to read only once...
Not many like the Harem Genre, and if one also considers that this has n repetitions (n -> infinite -___- ) of Naru beat Ketaro, even then this manga has crazy and impossible situations to keep one hooked just long enough to finish it, but not read it again.
Has some good emotional hits too...

I really enjoyed reading this manga. The mixture of absurd humor and romance is well done and I loved the characters. The highlights were the last chapter of volume 12 and the complete the last volume. Even the epilogue (the last two chapters) was superb.

I first saw the anime and i liked it, but then i read the first volume and didnt wanna see Keitaro become a pervert again. Eventually, i did read all14 Volumes of Love Hina, and i loved volumes 13+14 because they were based on Keitaro and Naru. The ending was more like a hilarous ending than a romantic one. Feel sad for the new girl.

this is really good

MUST READ smile

This is probably the worst manga I've read almost all the dialog is useless and also the same lines are repeated over and over and over again art isn't even that good, the characters are unlikeable and cliche
there are only a few good chapters in the manga and thats the only reason why I'm not giving it a 1
I found myself skipping entire chapters just to find a piece of dialog that was worth reading
I guess that this manga is popular just because you see pantyshots (too many) which may have been something new when this manga first came out but times have changed...
there is like 3-4 pantyshots in every chapter and in every one of them keitarou is sent flying even when its obviously not his fault... this scene has been repeated a thousand times in the manga

bottom line DO NOT read this manga it is not worth it
