the characters (especially Cooro and Husky) are adorable but their stories are so tragic

It's a pretty cute series and I like the ideas behind it.
I realize that there's barely any story line.
The point of manga is to entertain you, though, and this manga did entertain me quite a bit.
Anyways, the characters were cute and unique, the stories were intriguing, and the artwork was good. I reccomend this to anyone looking for a cute manga about kids (with animal qualities ^_^).

I hate hearing biased reviews that complain solely about the slow plot speed of the book. Seriously, that's hardly of any relevance to the quality of the manga.
Anyways! All in all, the series is very entrancing yet heartwarming at the same time. The detail that goes into the backgrounds and title pages are breathtaking while the actual style of the art is easy on the eyes. Although, I'd have to say that my favorite part of the manga was the realism of the character's personalities and actions; it's almost as if you're watching actual children confront daily adversaries with, I might add, cleverness and creativity. Definitely a top favorite of mine and worth the read. ^_^

i loved the uniqueness and junk. it was a nice and refreshing story. it also went by tooo quickly, not that she moved by too quickly, i just mean it felt like i read it all too quickly.. 10 volumes? it felt more like 3 or 4.. =) i enjoyed it greatly though. and thought the ending was interesting. =) .. i wish more was explained though, ut.. i guess i'll have to live with it. it is definitely and recommended read if you want something to cheer you up and go by quickly. =) or something a little.. different. =)

Okay, here's the thing, when I first read the description, it totally got me, and I was even more taken in by the protagonists. It's a very cute and fluffy manga, but it also has another element that really keeps you into it. I HIGHLY recommend it. I think it's adorable and lovely and just...
I like it alot is kinda what I'm getting at.

First, a quick comment- it's a shounen manga, check the serialization (though at the time I type this the label is correct.)
Anyway, this is another solid uplifting adventure story. It's clearly meant to be an exercise in escapism, but the storytelling is reasonably compelling, and the fantastical environment is infused with just enough drama to keep it interesting and not lose the effect. A great read for a lazy Sunday morning or rainy afternoon.

+Anima's underrated. Personally, I believe that this manga comparatively excels in all areas of a shoujo.
I loved how +Anima provided its readers a varying pool of personalities, from the quiet and daydreaming Senri to the childish and feminine Nana. Each character was developed well, not just as an individual, but also as a member of a community. Character relations realistically develops and blossoms beautifully, and the characters themselves go through experiences to learn invaluable morals.
The art is - to sum up in one word - gorgeous. Never is a panel half-assed; even the intentionally comical moments are well-drawn and loved. Expressions on the characters' faces depict well of their emotions and accentuate the situation. Clothing is detailed, and includes tiny details such as hair accessories and unique designs to fit the world of +Anima.
The plot - although there may not be an explicit one, I believe that the actual ongoing plot is the character development. Through each chapter, a lesson is learned and values are gained. Though the plot may be simple, it is the simplicity that makes the manga touching. By utilizing a child's innocence and purity in the manga, the intended message is stronger. The reader sees through the children's eyes, through a different and untainted perspective, lessons learnt don't seem so frivolous.
That leads up to my last point - the overall reading value of +Anima. I think the most important thing gained from reading this manga would be a child's perspective of the world.
I seem to have written a novel. I know this was supposed to be a comment and not a review, but I just feel that this manga deserves a much better rating than it's given. Though its protagonists are children, +Anima can certainly be targeted for older audiences. Its art, story, and characters are all very cute, loving, and heartwarming.

Light and cute outlook of dark issues

Somehow this manga manages to cast some very dark issues in a cute light, dealing with feelings of isolation of minorities, near-death inspired phobias, slavery and inequality of the world in a cute and optimistic way. It's not got much in the way of plot, focusing more on the personalities of the characters and looking into their background. However it's an enjoyable read after reading several tragic mangas or with elaborate plot lines. Very light and cute with no annoying ecchi or without being irritating.
EDIT: Well I guess anyone reading this should look forward to a long wait since NCIS have dropped it as a project so now we need to hope a new group take it up to finish off the last volume or so.

adorable manga! It is more of a day-to-day slice of life type of fantasy about a few innocent kids living together. Don't be fooled, it does deal with contemporary issues like alienation, trauma and phobias, and with some older issues like slavery from an optimistic outlook. All the characters are really free spirited and luvable ^_^ Highly recommended
