When Hunters and Gatherers became Farmers living became hell. From working 3 hours a day we went to 8,9, 10 or more. Farm life is tedious and boring. Sadly the highly talented mangaka of fma decided that we should care about it.
This is actually quite good. So far, I've seen things that impressed me. Most kids think learning/studying is harding than physical work. Highly untrue. People that do labor work work much harder, and spend a lifetime gaining the muscle required to perform. People who require studying to work get to sit in the comfort of their own home, and its even a bonus if they like what they're doing.
as i already guess. a lot people expect mangaka to write another fantasy manga while this, in fact, a slice of life one. hence, the bad rating it got. but to you all who new to this page, i asure you, this one is one good slice-of-life. few surprise here and there to make the main character suffer which make me as a reader let out chuckles. the feel is the same like early fma. the development? no one knows. but i am sure this one has potential.
update:
and even though I've already stated that this title is slice of life, a great one (after reading up to 10th), people keep coming expecting fantasy story line, and disappointed again. bad rating keep posted and I regret that. It doesn't does this title justice.

arakawa sometimes talked about that she worked on her parents farm in hokkaido before becoming a mangaka. i knew she would make something like this in a manga sometime. it is interesting but it feels kinda weird having characters with japanese names in the arakawa artstyle.But still, it has a very original feeling. It´s full of unique characters and good Arakawa humor. After FMA you might except that Arakawa does fantasy again, but no, this is a new terrain and she handles it pretty well. This might become one of my favorite manga once there are enough chapters out. It has a good potential.
