It does indeed seem a little cliche and all but i really like the feelings that this manga presents. It's a light read full of growth, character development, love and dreams and possibilities.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Not really a fan of the ending though. But i did see it coming, it was kinda obvious from the start that he would study abroad. The last chapter where he comes back to visit her was also predictable but i do wish there was another chapter showing their lives 10 years later when they both become successful.

Nevertheless, i enjoyed this manga! It's simple, light and heartwarming

The plot wasn't good. The art was only above average. The characters were slightly "Mary-Sue" (and somewhat predictable). My list of flaws could continue for a while.
I liked this manga though; it's a pretty good quick read, so if you're in the mood for quick, sweet, and simple, it doesn't get better than this.

Just try not to be an critical reader like I am--it doesn't end well for any manga you read.

I really wanted to start reading this manga because the art work is very beautiful, and the story line seemed interesting. Firstly, I'm surprised that he comes out very quickly, and the rest seems as fillers for her to reply. It doesn't have much action and was very boring.

Not great, but not bad

As a critic, I suppose this is a good read if you just want a hint of romance which is unique in the perspective that both sides were a;ready perfect and complimenting each other. There is some character and plot development but, since the characters were close to perfect in their roles anyway, not much was done, but that's fine. It's not simple comedy, nor the deep stuff. What saves it is the lack of cheesy romantic roles one can fine in a cliche shoujo, the ones in shounen, and heck even a number of those found in seinen or josei, roles that show quite impractical and unrealistic thought pattern (but those are fun sometime...only sometimes).

A good read if u want to do all 5 vols at one shot

I really liked this serie. First, because the artwork is amazing, fresh and beautiful - not cute as many shoujos, it gave me a cool and class feeling. It's true the story is slow but it goes with the mood - cool and calm. So, I recommend it to everyone.

One of the worst

When i start a manga, i always want to finish it, even if it mite be boring, just like u know sheer curiosity. But dis manga, honestly i tried so hard but i justcudn't!! soo boring. Art is amazing, but honestly the plott was so boring for me. After 11 chapters or so, dre was hardly any romance, and consisted of the guy dressing up as a girl which i found truly disturbing. The attempted humour was boring and i found the whole piano thing utterlu boring as well. Maybe because I am not that into musical instruments. Others though mite like it but for me this manga was one of the worst. Art was amazing, though and made me want to "try" and bear with this boring boring manga.

great girl protagonist

first thing first... it's the art that drew me to reading it. well, i thought i could never find the perfect girl protagonist i am imagining until i found this. the cover did a lot of impact at me... when i started reading... ahaha it was completely like it made a big turn to what i expect but she's somehow and, i'd say, unexpectedly likable in my case.

i so love the art.. and the plot and the characters and everything...

some people agree and some don't... but i do.. i think it gave me the same feel of special a when i read venus capriccio. and fortunately.. it's more realistic than special a. although the exaggeration of special a gave it it's humor just like ouran.

i so hate myself for always forgetting the title. it's somehow..somehow not easy to remember.*sigh* peace!

anyway i'm giving it a 10..!! so i'm sure to remember it...!--especially the ART!! i so love it! i'm falling inlove with takami!!

Mediocre bordering on boring...

Cliché plot, not bad but not memorable. Art is modern and clean; pretty nice but nothing spectacular either. I found both protagonists' personalities a bit overdone in shoujo manga... The girl is "boyish", gets bad grades, nosy-but-caring, and dense. Guy is a bishie, good at almost everything he does, troubled childhood (though not too bad), quiet, and doesn't get along well with others. You can basically tell how it's going to end by reading the first chapter or so.

If you can ignore those, then I guess it's an "okay" manga.

While I found it to be a tad slow and drab sometimes, the art is absolutely stunning, makes up for everything. Nishikata Mai is one talented artist.

Venus Capriccio has beautiful artwork and a beautiful story. The artwork is sooooo pretty to look at. The length and plot is also very nice as well and had a nice closure. However, the beginning should have introduced the themes, rather than acting like a filler. Still, characterization is very strong, especially in Akira. He wasn't like the perfect bishie type(though he looks very hot ^^), and instead has flaws. His reactions to certain things are especially cute and original. Once again, it's a very nice story. I recommend everyone to read it!
