i can't say how nice it was to read about a couple who would truly do anything for the other, who loved each other to that extent. they knew each other, respected each other, and cared for each other. when something arose, they didn't foolishly believe they could work through it themselves (a shojo common place x__x), they relied on the other.
the art, the story, and all were wonderful. it captured my attention and held it, which is a miracle in itself! and 5 volumes is the perfect length. the musical elements were a wonderful touch, since i'm a musician myself! (not quite.. a prodigy though XD)
the romantic developement was wonderfulllll. i loved it so much. and the couple.. like i said before, it was just.. ahhhhh~! when akira was like "i am not your little brother.. and if you can't tell the difference.. then i'll show you." waaaaaaah~~ takami, why'd you have to run away! curse you! XDD
a cute, beautiful, funny, cute read. plus the art (and the boys~) are gorgeous!! i was really sad to end it, to my surprise. for me, it was one of those stories i want to keep the characters in my pocket and carry them around with me. hahaha >3. my only complaint would have been to see how they have changed more in two years at the end, but eh.

It's a nice manga, especially in the beginning, the plot is good enough. But sadly there aren't really many (if any at all) truly heart wrenching scenes. And it's not like lily_kitty says that it has alot of mistakes, it's more her own mistake cause akira in the beginning is actually 14 yo and not 15.
not that grate i guess plus it seemed like they never changes years of the school even though it had many months pass they all stayed in the same school year and also same with there age
and when they said 2 years later where Akira should have been about i guess 17 was only 16, though before in the beginning they said Akira was 15.

I got into this series simply because it had a music theme (that to centered around the piano)
By the end of the last Chapter, I knew I had read an amazing story, where we see the characters mature, where we see them cry and be there for each other.
Initially, I wasn't happy with the one sided love, but later I found out, it was an important part of the story, and how it added to the overall feel of the Story.
I was very very happy reading this, and the ending was pretty satisfying too... though I wouldn't mind some more

I was skeptical after the first volume because it was a bit exaggerated and relied too heavily on cliches (you know - potential love rivals, jealous fangirls, crazy school play, amusement park date, etc). After things were set into place it got much better.
I liked the way the music theme was applied to the story and how it was used to connect Takami and Akira and also the way the characters communicated through music. The pacing was just right and so was the development of the characters, especially Akira. I liked that it didn't sugarcoat the issues concerning him. The side characters were likeable as well. Also the art is lovely although I do agree the characters look more mature than they are.

Takami treats Akira as a friend while Akira is protective of her and wants Takami to notice him. This is very much like Kei and Hikari's relationship. The story also has the same lighthearted feeling and is not focused solely on romance. Like atomdreamer stated its like a toned downed streamlined version (not to say that it's a copy).
It was a fun and enjoyable series to read, and I recommend it.

Having read all the shojo manga I've had, I can say that this one is a nice change of pace from the "just met you, already loove you" mangas.
The pace is slow, giving time for the characters to grow into you. The art is amazingly beautiful, and each chapter has a moment that makes you go "Awwww :3"
Even tough I find Takami's character a little bit unrealistic, it still fits the series. But I think it would be better if they weren't 15-16 years old. They look much more mature and adult than that...

first of all, before i read the series, i realized the there were a lot of positive comments about venus capriccio... but then, i also noticed the negative comments about it... and guess what, i think their right...
it has a slow progress, and the characters, even though they say that they like each other still doesn't confirm that they are going out until the end of the series... i mean what is with that?
but you know, it's not all negative... even though while i was reading i was also impatient on when it is going to end, you just can't seem to stop reading because you want to know what will happen next..
if you try to finish the series, it is actually good... actually, i don't agree to people that it is like special a... the girl here is a bit of a tomboy and seem strong but 'strong' as a definition for this girl is not about being the best physically but strong as in normally?(i can't think of words to explain it...)

Well i agree with what Meepyish said...it was kinda boring i had too high expaction for it since it has high rank and good comments for it. There's not so much of romance in start. It's just some boring piano scenes. The start ruined my view for this manga =/
Well,I was intrigued by the title "venus capriccio" so i went and read it.This is a great manga,light-hearted but has a depth to it The characters are amazing! Especially the way they care for each other.I like it when Akira tries his best for Takami to stop seeing him a friggin "little sister".The art was great.This series actually remind me of La corda d' oro and special A together,which is awesome.So all this manga needs is for takami to stop being dense and yay! The manga will become more and more fantastic.

The manga will become more and more fantastic.This isn't exactly a spectacular manga in my eyes, but I admit that I enjoyed it a lot. The two main characters have good chemistry and good personalities, and the pace is more or less just right - it doesn't slump somewhere in the middle and it doesn't rush them into a relationship.
For those of you who have read and liked Special A, this may be for you. I noticed quite a few similarities between the two - Takami is tough and energetic like SA's Hikari (although a little less clueless), and Akira resembles Kei, although he's not such an all-around genius. In fact I kind of thought this story was a bit like a much-toned-down, less exaggerated and hectic Special A. Not that I think it's a copy; it has its own original nuances, and I like the way it focuses a lot more on the two centre characters instead of expanding to include many minor ones, which I think Special A did a bit too often.
It's fun, easy-sailing manga for anyone who likes this genre. I recommend it.
