Wow i just totally love this girl, i hate it in manga when the girl always has to be rescude, i mean once or twice is kinda romantic but maria dosent usually need rescuing, i love watching the bullies squirm around her, amagine if she actually tried to intimidate somone, they would die of freight, she usually dosent stick up for herself, but she dosent show any emostions which works better because she cant be intimidated, shes straitforward and blunt, and strong, my favorite manga herion.

Akuma to Love Song is a manga about the uglier side of human nature. It realistically portrays jealousy, pride, bullying, and petty revenge. This is definitely a unique read and I can recommend it to people looking for something a little different.

It can be hard to believe this is a shoujo manga at times. It's not a happy-fun read. There are times when the actions of some of the characters piss me off so much that I want to stop reading entirely. But I don't, and I'm better off for it. Confronting these kind of feelings head-on helps us recognize the ugliness in ourselves and that alone makes this a manga worth reading.

It's hard to say whether Maria is clever or stupid. On one hand she is insightful enough to see right through the masks people wear in their daily lives, but on the other hand she seems totally incapable of wearing a mask of her own. She always says what she thinks and that puts her in some awkward positions. It also makes a lot of enemies but you can't help but admire her character and root for her. It's a tough fight, though.

Edit: That's what you get for reviewing something early. While I liked the early chapters very much, this manga becomes complete melodramatic crap halfway through. Revising my rating...

this one really interest in such an odd way.. im not really happy reading this. im somewhat agitated chapter after chapter. but i really liked it. i don't know why. she's not your typical goody two shoes heroine and i thought she is a bitch. but a good one. smile she goes and reveals the devil side in everyone she talks with. this is really good. very new and kind of refreshing.

I love how she can speak her mind, a trait I wish I had. I understand her ability of knowing how people really are, in this world there ARE superficial people (this is realistic!). People will say one thing to either gain something or raise their status, when they really think something else. NightSwan I have to disagree with you, teachers even ones that seem nice and professional are still human. Many manga's portray whiny and beastly people as females with issues, but teachers are adults and can get jealous or cautious of there status (Maria is making him look bad and he constantly wants to look good in front of his superiors). This manga is very deep and I like that about it, not the flat, same, overused plot where girls likes hot guys and has to choose from them. Maria is drawn more beautuiful then other characters to stress how Maria looks like an angel, but says things that don't seem very angelic and again I love that about the manga.

I fell in love with Maria right away. I feel like I am so much like her. Blunt and to the point. If you see someone's personality as faulty, you say so. I loved her! There were times where I wish she would be more blunt because so many people treat her like crap, but I can't hate her. She sees the hidden evil in people that most people wouldn't see. She tries to give people a chance, but when she does, she does it wholeheartedly even if it means Maria gets hurt.

This is not your average shoujo manga. I wish other heroines were like Maria! This one makes your blood boil and there are no cliches! Maria isn't the girl who wants to befriend a jerk because she's naive. No, she just deals!

I really like this manga. BUT I don't like the look of it from the raws. Not everyone would agree with me and its only my personal opinion of course, but I feel its going into typical shoujo mode (from the raws that I've seen) and that totally frustrates me to no end!! Grrrr I was angry for daysssss But because it got to me means it is a good manga and it is highly recommended. Just don't expect it to be too different.

A-hole teachers like the one in this story definitely exist. Teachers are human and humans can be evil. Count yourselves lucky if you never met them. Also, any classroom can devolve into a group of bullies and morons especially if there is an open target like a single black kid in a classroom full of whites. (In my case, a single hotheaded Chinese kid in a classroom full of blacks.) As Tommy Lee Jones' character said in "Men in Black":

Quote
A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it.

"Kawai Maria" is a smart girl with a dumb mouth. She sees all the flaws people exhibit and she spouts out her observations with little to no restraint. The fact that it is easy to see those flaws in ourselves and those around us makes this a story worth reading. It is also a story that pisses you off every now and then. I'm not the only one here whose blood boils at the sight of the class's teacher. Read this and your's probably will too.

I think so many people would still be keeping up with this great series, but the speed of the realeases is what's holding everyone down. I was lucky enough to find korean raws online, and that has made my experience with this series amazing.

Definetly an all time favorite, then though there are only 13 chapters out It was still a 10 in my book. Although the situation can at times see unrealistically misfortunate, it still creates the ideal environment for our incredibly unique heroine to flourish. Love this one a definite must read, very unique in the shoujo world.I just hope they pick up on scanning it more or get it licensed in english!!

well, i find it hard to believe that my taste to picking mangas i read is quite similar to other people. i find it hard to find a person with the same blend of likes in genres.

i don't normally comment unless i really like the manga. this manga have been torturing my brain for days.

it has got lots of reasons why. first, i'm dead jealous of the protagonist-being able to hit people with words that hurt most. i mean, i've been studying that for years already. second, i'm so confuse. usually, i put myself as the protagonist... but hell what? my perceptions don't coincide with Maria at all! i keep asking 'wow! how could she think it that way and i dont?' i'm not sure if it's the translations or the mangaka itself - for having such remarkable philosophy that i still can't comprehend well.or it could be the language gap. english is not my first language anyway.

with these, i'd salute it for being a good shoujo. kinda unpredictable and strong heroine. i really adore strong women.

ONE OF THE BESTS! my assurance. to the positive comments, i owe you for giving the trigger to read this promising manga.

P.S. i think i'm just too uneasy. i feel like a loser to be thinking just like the bullies in the manga. they all think and act like losers. unfortunately, i think like them too. i need to be really really really broad-minded this time. thanks for the wake-up call of this manga and to the mangaka and scanlators.
