Description
Kagome is a modern Japanese high-school girl. Never the type to believe in myths and legends, her world view dramatically changes when, one day, she's pulled out of her own time and into another! There, in Japan's ancient past, Kagome discovers more than a few of those dusty old legends are true, and that her destiny is linked to one legendary creature in particular--the dog-like half-demon called Inuyasha! That same trick of fate also ties them both to the Shikon Jewel, or "Jewel of Four Souls." But demons beware...the smallest shard of the Shikon Jewel can give the user unimaginable power...

I have to say I was really hooked onto Inu for the first like 100 chapters but then things started to go down hill.... This manga is TOOOOO long, Naraku seems to have the elixur of youth, endless demon battles ehhhh I could not stand the torment

This is another manga of the started so good kind... But it's extremely long. I was shocked when i knew it had finished. At the beginning i rly like it. The characters are typical shoujo characters so i dont like them. But the developement of the relationship between kagome and inuyasha was pretty good. Inu sucks though... Then the story just continue and continue and i see nothing but never ending battles ( which has ended somehow ) and some boring romance. I liked shessomaru at 1st but the mangaka tried too hard to make him cool and destroyed him completely
it's not perfect!

the story is very entertaining........and first itme in my life to read a manga with five hundred ish chapters .......
i just wish there's more development in the love stories........the author only drags the relationship and rarely has any development which is really very unsatifying ......come on.......you have like 500 chapter to develop that...........and wrap up their love story with not much explanation
the drawing of characters is also quite funny........i mean come on.....they never age..........is kagome always in a fifteen yr old girl and rin as five.........sigh
but still i finish it in 3 days with lack o sleep
it's a 9!

Just to get it over with, I agree that this manga is definitely EXTREMELY long. That being said however, I don't think it was as bad as some people made it out to be in their comments. I think that if a series becomes the inspiration of tens of thousands of fanfiction stories in different languages, then it's something to be reckoned with.
I could have cared less about InuYasha's storyline, nor the innumerable special moves that were mentioned throughout the story. I also didn't really care for the numerous enemies (in this Rumiko Takahashi doesn't deviate from Ranma) and the (sometimes) astoundingly inept plot twists and turns.
So what exactly drew me to InuYasha? Although I hate Inuyasha's and Kikyou's guts, I liked the characters and their development in the series (yes, even the aforementioned ones, however contradicting that is). And I was at least appeased when despite the "cliched"-ness of it all, Rumiko Takahashi gave us an ending which was neither open-ended nor unsatisfying. All in all Inuyasha was ok. In my book it will never be a "masterpiece", but at least it entertained me for quite a long time.

Inuyasha is what introduced me to the world of anime and manga. It was so beauiful and new back then. The beggining chapters were done well. Good story, well, mediocore at best but it had a great feel and sense of effort in it. I managed too read a couple of chapters at the end and i can tell you one hundred percent that its a piece of crap. The ending was horrible. everything about it felt like crap on top of crap. No effort to tell an actual story was even being made. Horrible... Just horrible.

The ending (ch 558) concluded the way I wanted it too.
Hands down, despite the length, I loved it, still love it, and will continue to love it.
Really, really awesome (but time consuming and lengthy) read.

I actually didn't mind the length of the series. I felt it was necessary to play out all the various adventures of the group and strengthen character development. The twists did get pretty annoying but that's how an evil mind works. A problem like Naraku can't be solves with only a few occurances. It has been a worthwhile read. I'm satisfied with the ending and I hope that new generations will not be detered by the length of the series and give Inuyasha a read. It's definitely worth reading.

I love Rumiko Takahashi~
This series was too long, but very interesting even though it sorta drags// Nobody important ever truly dies and it's slightly disappointing. However, I'm rating it a ten to maybe (hopefully) override a few of the "1"s it was given. It does NOT deserve a one. No manga ever deserves a one if it has at least an attempted good storyline and unique characters. This definitely goes over that. Really, I'm rating it a ten out of a bit of pity for the low that it has and that it shouldn't. This manga has a very special in my heart and it will stay that way for a very long time... maybe even my entire life. Without the pity part, I would rate it a 9 >< Definitely. It was too long but I still love it. And just because it was too long does NOT mean it deserves a one... or anything lower than a five. A definite must read, although your liable to skip a couple (hundred) chapters. ^^; But really, great story, great characters. A Rumiko Takahashi (or just manga) classic.

OMG it finally ended, i cannot believe that it is actually possible to skip to the last few chapters without reading the middle, but actually i don't think i missed alot, and i hope TAKAHASHI Rumiko can start a new series but not one this long. Most normal people would die XD
