That might not be all of them. ._. But I haven't been reading lots of shoujo lately. >.>;; Anyway, those were all the cliched type of couples I could think of. So pick your favorite! And don't be picky dammit! >;(

I feel like I need to state this beforehand: Coolest guy in shoujos are usually also the school prince or the most smartest, stoic, athletic, etc...you know what I mean. New transfer student can also be the class outcast or whatever. O_~

I'm a sucker for good girl x bad guy...T~T

I think I have a thing for forbidden relationships. > u <

I voted on stepsiblings-love, but I wouldn't mind teacher x student or good girl x bad guy either. ♥

Rivals for me too. I like when they don't know how to act - hostile or cordial.

I like all kinds of shoujo couples. What can I say, I'm a hopeless romantic.

Well, first off, I don't like school-life romances (is the school setting really that exciting?), so that rules out about a third of the poll choices. No incestuous relationships for me either, so that eliminates the stepsiblings (although I realize that this is not truly incestuous). Rivals are okay, but they usually end up screaming at each other for the first half of the manga and then "discovering their feelings" for the next half, and I find such characters who lack self-awareness tiresome. Celebrities are also tiresome because they rely too much on their looks and status to attract the heroine (I'm okay with the heroine being a celebrity, though). So that leaves me with the supernatural couple, and I'll take it. Many of those bad-tempered-demon-twirled-around-the-thumb-of-a-little-girl stories are quite cute, e.g., Hana to Akuma, Kamisama Hajimemashita, Masca.

I'm a sucker for good girl X bad guy. But I'll give just about every combination a chance, as long as it's done well.

I like the bickering type best. I dont like when they seriously fight. Just when its done for laughs.

-Lovely Complex
-Dengeki Daisy
-Faster Than A Kiss

Or the cold guy/silly hyper girl types.
-Koukou Debut
-Nodame Cantabile

Oh yes, I agree. I like it when one teases the other, and vice versa. Like how Takaomi is towards Mafuyu in Oresama Teacher .

Which sort of leads to childhood friends turn couple. I always root for the childhood friend.

But I still want her to be with Banchou. XD

i really like rivals!!
because im not really the type that likes shy-insecure- doormatl ike girls that are usually on mangas that has too good to be true romances...
so i like them as equals...

normally i dont tend to care about the couples since i hardly ever focus on the romance in mangas.

out of the listed cliches, though, i'd have to go for the stepsiblings ;x the living-together situation is so overused, but can sometimes be amusing in a familial situation.

however, my favorite type of shoujo couple is, sadly, the two super tragic/angsty characters that find solace in one another ;x and of course, super angst ensues...

I don't like any of those. I picked "other" as long as it's not school romance. Overconfident is OK, but it doesn't necessarily mean rivals. From what I've seen so-called rivals are usually annoying and bitchy.
