As in, I'm looking for a lead who genuinely acts and thinks like a cranky old man - to whatever extent. There are plenty of stories out there that feature tsundere female leads who act cranky and irritable - but the main problem I have here is that they start blushing and start acting like a love-struck teenager as soon as a guy they like comes on the scene. Nope, what I'm looking for a female character who genuinely has 'cranky old man syndrome', if that is the best description, as a in-built part of their personality, and it dosen't go away with the appearance of a love interest. Examples:

Carat! - Female lead has a temper, and acts irritable and cranky to the people around her.
Warau Kanoko-sama - Probably the best example I've come across so far. This one acts not only cranky and irritable, but prys into other people affairs and is always convinced she is right. And throughout the story, several characters, at one point or another, actually accuse her of being one.

So yeah, looking for manga with female leads like this. Comedy and romance would be a major plus, but not vital. thanks.

Sugar Addiction - she really acts like a cranky old men...hahaha...but its a manhwa....
kuragehime- she is a worst case otaku.Not exactly cranky old man but you might like it.

Nenene was like a cranky old man, and there was no romance in the series, even though it may be a little bit of shojo-ai subtext and some fanservice-y shots, though...
