I have 7 weeks of holiday that starts today but I'm already bored!! T_T

Could someone suggest me some nice mangas to read??

-Romance is a must!!! It has to be the main genre of the manga.
-I don't really like shounen and seinen but if there is a really good one please suggest it.
-I'd like if there are many chapters scanlated or else I'd be finished with it very soon.
-I don't like ecchi, mecha, yuri and sci-fi
-I don't mind tragedy as long as it has an happy ending!!

I really like historical mangas with adventure and martial arts, something like Basara and Red River. So if you can suggest something like that it would be great.

Also, this is my wish list: http://www.mangaupdates.com/mylist.html?id=250192&list=w ish
Could someone suggest which mangas are really good that I should pick up?

And if you know any good YA novels that as published last year or this year can you please suggest them too?

And any good k-dramas that were released this year. I've already watched:
City Hunter
Warrior Baek Dong Soo
The Princess' Man
Spy Myung Wol
Can You Hear My Heart
Lie To Me
Poseidon

Most of those dramas had martial arts in them so I guess I like them a lot but others are fine too.

Sorry for the long post!!!
Thanks! smile

From your wishlist, I think these you should pick up:
Kaguya Hime: only 5 volumes scanlated so far, and then jump to vol.14. but it's so good
Heroine Shikkaku: not general shoujo, and hilarious too
Tenshi Kinryouku: all 20 volumes scanlated, good way to spend holiday biggrin
Kuro Bara Alice

If you like basara and red river, you should try other manga by these author: Tamura Yumi and Shinohara Chie, especially 7 Seeds, [m]Ao no Fuiin[/m].

Others:
Tokyo Crazy Paradise: 19 volumes, all scanlated
Gokinjo Monogatari, and other by Yazawa Ai
Hana to Akuma: it's very cute!
Meteor Methuselah
NG Life
Kanata Kara and Miriam and others by Hikawa Kyoko
Kare First Love
Otomen
Suna no Shiro

Shounen/Seinen, but it's very good (they don't have ecchi):
Bitter Virgin: tragedy, very touching. but it has happy ending, don't worry smile
B. Shock!
Onani Master Kurosawa: don't be turn off by the title, it's really good.
Angel Densetsu: the art maybe not your taste, but the story is great and funny
Tenshi na Konamaiki
Superior and its sequel

Pretear is a good romance both anime and manga, not so much historical, its good. Dear My Girls is a historical manga, also very good, also try Hakushaku to Yōsei, its an anime aswell as manga, its historical, don't know if you will like it or not I did enjoy watching the series aswell as reading the manga.

Rurouni Kenshin (there is an anime aswell), Saiunkoku Monogatari <- this is a match watch aswell read, its very good and you can not go past Fuushigi Yuugi, there is an anime adaption aswell however be warned its a very dramatic romance that you will make you require a box of tissues.

Hayate no Gotoku!! is a comedy one, very good, Juuni Kokki is awesome! Its a little eerie for me, I here its a good anime aswell as manga, Seirei no Moribito and Kyo Kara Maou is a light shounen-ai which is boy love, there is never any kissing its all circled round boys, there is one or two females character, its very long 151 episodes or something like that which should kill the boredom and its definitely historical. I loved the series and I think I watched every episode in 5 days lol.

As for K-drama, I've watched 1Litre of Tears, its an absolute tearjerker although Japanese, Taiyou no Uta, a huge tearjerker, both dramas mentioned so far are romance.

A BIG must watch K-drama, You're Beautiful, oh my gosh, you could watch the series twice over and not be bored the second time, its very good filled with romance, not so much at the beginning <.<

Personal Taste, Secret Garden are all good, I'm also watching My Princess and Mop Girl at the moment, its very good, although this is Japanese its very good Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend), there is a manga based on it aswell, both very awesome.

There are sooo many good reads out there, if you need post again smile

From Far Away has a historical feel to it, although it really is an alternate universe. (That's not spoilers, because it's revealed in the first chapter) It has fantasy, but I don't know your opinions on it.

The romance is beautiful, and there is quite a large amount of action! Also, it is fully scanlated. biggrin I REALLY enjoy this manga, and have reread it multiple times.

have a nice vacation! biggrin

Otomegatari is one of the highest ranking mangas out here, and fits your historical criteria

for the rest, it's a real pain to copy everything from my list and post it here, so if you're bored, pick a random manga from my completed or reading list with rating of 8 or 8+
over 95% should be romance, and the high ranked have (mostly) 60+ chapters

Manga you might like:
First Girl
100% Perfect Girl
Boy Princess if you don't mind some shounen-ai
Glass Mask (or the anime)
Barairo My Honey
You're So Cool
anything by Takada Rie, Wild Act, Heart, H³ School!
or Mitsuki Kako, Ai Hime - Ai to Himegoto, Kiss/Hug
I also just set my complete list as public, it's pretty much all shoujo romance, if you're looking for more complete stuff.
if you haven't read it, Totally Captivated, it's soft yaoi, and the art, characters, and story are just phenomenal, it's like a new classic, I had to add it when I remembered

YA:
I don't know about this year, but you'd probably like works by these authors:
Elizabeth Scott
Courtney Summers
Jennifer Echols
Meghan McCafferty (Bumped came out this year, but I like the Jessica Darling novels best)
Sarah Dessen
Simone Elkeles
Jenny Han
Jenny O'Connell
Melissa Marr
Melissa de la Cruz
Tera Lynn Childs

K-drama:
Protect the Boss
Heartstrings
Greatest Love
My Princess
Dream High

The queen's knight
Yokohama Monogatari (not much scanlated though)
Apothecarius Argentum
Absolute Witch
Divine Melody
Real Fake Princess
Shinobi Life

As for K-dramas run this year, I highly recommend Scent of a woman and 49 days biggrin

look at my complete and reading lists, just about all of them are romance, if its rated, I have read it, if it is under five then it is likely that it is either short or bad, over five and they get good. None of them have the undesirable genres that you said but there are too many to write down and i can't do that link thing so it would be really hard to look them all up. sorry, but have fun reading.
